So after Saturday's defeat we're immediately back in action for our third successive home game. Tonight welcoming Blackburn in the Carabao Cup. Likely to be a number of changes in a match that is not so important to win ;) ....

But anyway...

Any team news? :)

Fleck obviously still out.

Morrison a likely starter?

Moore getting the nod?

And McBurnie and Sharp up front?

While I want United to win every game, some are less important than others. Avoid unnecessary cards and please no injuries and see what pans out. No extra time in these fixtures, so that is one less worry... Without knowing the lineup it's hard to predict but I think we'll win relatively easily 3-1 with Sharp getting 2...

At what point do we start to worry we’ve whiffed on mousset?

I know he’s behind on fitness but he’s had a month or so with the side , so it’s a concern he’s still not deemed close enough to be in contention to start.
Amount we paid for him seemed bizarre. Hope he comes good of course.

Not Dack, but Armstrong. Was deep in conversation at the time and clearly can't multitask 🤣

On the evidence of the first 10. Norwood is definitely trying to play through a funk.

Very sloppy.

Good crowd !
Good save !
Dacks A good player wonder if we could have got him for 20 mill ?

Everyone's forgotten how to pass.

Too static.

Needs work.

Besic doesn't mind a tackle, trying too hard in possession though.

Are we creating anything? Or is our strong 2nd team constantly being pushed back by a Rovers team with 8 changes..

Players are stitching each other up with pass selection, gradually getting a bit better but lack of understanding between all areas.

Bryan has gone off after going down for a second time. Right foot/ankle.

Stevens is on. Ravel is stirring, some lovely interplay down the left.

Every prem team should include at least one fat Frenchy by default
Get our Cantona on !!!

One To Watch- Lys Mousset

A look at the Cherries forward who has recently attracted interest from Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur
Name: Lys Mousset
Age: 21
Club: AFC Bournemouth
Nationality: French
Position: LW/ST/CF
Estimated market value: €7 million
Lys Mousset is a France U21 international who plays his trade as a striker for AFC Bournemouth. The 21 year-old started his career with local clubs Soquence Graville and Havre Caucriauville before joining Le Havre academy in 2006. He graduated to Havre II where he scored 14 goals, before making his debut for Le Havre first team, scoring 14 goals in 34 appearences. Mousset has had a tricky spell since his move to the Premier League, featuring only 17 times since his €7.3 million summer move. With the forward having many options in front of him, I take a look at what the future holds for a player with potential to live up to.
Background
Lys Mousset was born on 8 February 1996 in Montivilliers, France. Mousset began his career with Le Havre academy, after impressing on trial. The youngster impressed and was given his chance for the first team, where the next big talent from France had suddenly arrived. The versatile forward had a breakthrough season for Le Havre in Ligue 2, scoring 14 goals in only 29 appearences.
It was in the summer of 2016 that Mousset was the next on Eddie Howe’s transfer list after Nathan Ake, arriving for a fee of €7.3 million on 30 June 2016. The Cherries won the race for the in demand frontman, who also attracted interest from Arsenal, Spurs, Southampton and Sunderland. He went on to score his first goal for the club in an FA cup-tie against Wigan Athletic on 6 January 2018 that finished 2-2, breaking his duck on his 28th appearance. Boss Eddie Howe urged the youngster to be on the right side of experimentation, expressing him as a ‘talented kid that will only get better’.

Strengths
When you see your typical centre forward in today’s game, the expectations is goals. Mousset is not a forward that is likely to score every game, but a ‘maverick’ forward, a player that is not necessarily highlighted for having a specific attribute, but his all round game, which is what caught the eye of Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe, who knows a good player when he sees one. When watching Mousset, his most stand out attribute is his movement. Mousset always comes off the bench and makes it difficult for the opposition, because of his versatility it’s hard to predict where he will play and what license he has when Bournemouth go forward. As for recently in the 2-1 win against Arsenal at the Vitality, Mousset caused havock, forming a front three along with Callum Wilson and Jordan Ibe. His off the ball movement contributed significantly in helping Bournemouth to seal a memorable win.
Another strength Mousset has showcased to the Premier League is his anticipation. The forward’s first goal for the club came from his anticipation of latching onto the ball and firing past the keeper. As modern day strikers show, with the likes of Aguero, anticipation is what helps him score so many goals, and Mousset is showing signs of exactly that. Along with this his composure for his age is also a highlight of his, as shown at Le Havre, he scored goals from composure in front of goal, rather than pressing the panick button.

As you can see, the graphic shows Lys’ composure to round his opponent and fire his shot past the keeper. The best bit of this clip is how easy Mousset makes it look, with most strikers probably producing a shot in this instance. Mousset sees his man, dances past his opponent into space and calmly slots past the keeper.
Concerns
With Eddie Howe’s boots filled in terms of forward options, Mousset sees himself at the bottom end of the pecking order, which may cause the Frenchman to be frustrated and unsettled at his lack of opportunities, and rightly so. The youngster has stated his desire to leave the club on loan this month, but with Jermain Defoe a long-term absentee, Benik Afobe struggling for goals, Lys Mousset might be a valuable option to have come the rest of the season.
He just needs to develop his game and keep working hard, and not let his discipline get the better of him. Many young players hit out at such a young age and never fulfil their potential. He needs to wait for his chance and take it, and maybe come the end of the season he could have played a big part in achieving the club’s target, which will be to build solid foundations and remain in the Premier League.
What next?
Lys has showed glimpses of potentially, a very good forward. It’s not a coincidence that high-profile clubs like Spurs and Arsenal were keen on him before joining the Cherries. Ultimately, Lys is only at the beginning of his career and is nowhere near his best. He just needs to get the game time, whether he sees that elsewhere on loan, maybe back to France or a step down in England to prove his worth as a player and try to replicate his form he showed in France.
I believe that Lys should remain at Bournemouth until the end of the season. The youngster must aim to repay the faith Eddie Howe put in him to bring him to England. The forward is a willing worker and he must show that on the pitch when given the rare opportunity. Then, come the end of the campaign Lys should consider his future elsewhere if this situation has not changed, possibly back to France to get his career back on track and then see what the future holds. For me, Lys deserves more of a chance and hopefully he gets that in the second half of the season.
Let me know your thoughts.

10 changes, played dross. Out we went to Barnet

Floodlights under John Street roof are brighter than the sun. Needs turning down or they can pay for my new retinas.
