Not panic stations agreed but so far the delving into pockets has been nothing short of hugely underwhelming.

Bit knee-jerk this imo. There's still a week until the season starts and 6 until the window shuts. Seems reasonable to wait until the season starts and see who is or isn't in squads up and down the divisions. Enquire about a player now and he might think he's going to be playing week in week out. Give it 3 weeks and he might not be in the relevant club's plans and be more open to a move. Plus waiting and seeing what PL players might be available to loan/buy once they get going.

Appreciate it's good to get players in early, but there is obviously some money floating about or we wouldn't have spent £10m (ish) on Cannon back in January.


Be patient, the club is undergoing a change of ownership and management and I'm cautiously optimistic that it will come good.

For me, the board intent is as much about who we keep.

If we see no more players leave, then 2/3 players will give us a competitive squad in the division after the initial arrivals, especially whe you bring back in Arbaster and Davies (If he can ever stay fit)

For me you then add in Soumare, a RB/CB and a Winger and I think we are in a decent position.

Obviously we would all want more and we may yet get this, but we need to ensure balance in our finances.

Half of the players you mentioned were completely mis managed by the previous gaffer DinoWilder

BBD was 1 in 2 forward offf the left so what does wildasaur do play him at Right midfield

Brewster was one of our btter players last half of the season again played out of position and retaining him should still be key good age and finally properly fit he will go to QPR or somewhere and do very well

JRS mis used him and brooks both moved so that wilder could play BBD in there position

Holding baffling how he didnt stary

I really don’t think we are “way off it” but sometimes taking over a good well established team can be much harder for a new manager…Most come into struggling sides and given carte blanche to put their own stamp on things. But in our case we aren’t that far off and Selles would be a fool to make wholesale changes. Personally I think if Selles can demonstrate even a modest change in style, it will be a step in the right direction.

Do I expect much beyond top 6 ? Not at the moment, we need another 1 0r 2 centre halves, a right back and 1 or 2 midfielders, its getting to the stage some need to be moved out to free up the financial side but I can see improvement in how we're trying to play.
