Yep it’s all about the size of the fee. Our £10 million “marquee signing” has after all been a great success.

That was an absolute disaster of a signing and whoever decided/ sanctioned it was 'stupid' his goal ratio wasn't great and half of the collective were 'pens'. This isn't even hindsight- me & my mates said this at the time but...

Give Ruben Selles £40 million and I'd bet my house on it he could find 4 £10 million pound European pearls.

Not panic stations agreed but so far the delving into pockets has been nothing short of hugely underwhelming.

Selling Vini was a mistake but I’d hoped by now for 4 say 5 million pound marquee signings. We are going on punts so far and doesn’t fill you with a lot of hope.

This squad is short by 4 quality players and needs addressing.

Bit knee-jerk this imo. There's still a week until the season starts and 6 until the window shuts. Seems reasonable to wait until the season starts and see who is or isn't in squads up and down the divisions. Enquire about a player now and he might think he's going to be playing week in week out. Give it 3 weeks and he might not be in the relevant club's plans and be more open to a move. Plus waiting and seeing what PL players might be available to loan/buy once they get going.

Appreciate it's good to get players in early, but there is obviously some money floating about or we wouldn't have spent £10m (ish) on Cannon back in January.


Be patient, the club is undergoing a change of ownership and management and I'm cautiously optimistic that it will come good.

The 10 million on Cannon was a loan guaranteed against this seasons Parachute payments ...allegedly and from a respected source inside the club - could be all ollocks but I was told this back in early February and laughed it off ... but it is feasible

Anyway, we have both bedwetters and bedshitters on this forum, and I don’t think you’ve been around for long enough yet to be accurately categorised. So if anyone has called you a bedwetter at this stage I would say that’s unfair.
