I don’t disagree but you appear to have missed my point entirely.
Sorry if I'm being an idiot, I thought the point you were making was 'Marquee' signings don't always work. I thoought Wilder was great and I would definitely have kept him, but his history with money is awful, once he'd made his mind up seemingly he was blinkered completely.

Cannon being the latest of a long line, I think with £40 million Selles would pick up 4 gems from the European Market (not Bulgaria).

So far a part from the Cannon signing we've seen FA from the owners re: flashing the cheque book; hope I'm wrong but the Cannon signing seems to have scarred them.

If spending isn't what they want todo,Iwish they hadn't bothered.

Have you actually been called a bedwetter yet? You may have, but if so I haven’t seen it.

Anyway, we have both bedwetters and bedshitters on this forum, and I don’t think you’ve been around for long enough yet to be accurately categorised. So if anyone has called you a bedwetter at this stage I would say that’s unfair.

I've called him a bedwetter TBF as I haven't seen a single even remotely positive post from him at this point 🤷‍♂️ .

I wonder how many times you say stuff like this thinking you're clever and are wrong.

Someone not having the same opinion as you doesn't make them a troll.

You've obviously not be around here long enough to witness Fallowfield and his multiple reincarnations if you're making statements like that 🤷‍♂️.

I like louie barry but to not get him with a view to a permananet is rather poor IMO espeially when hull were in for a permanent deal the week before

I assume you are not aware that there are reasons why Villa cooled on the idea of a perm after Hull lost interest

It's Fallowfield. (See post#5)

I doubt he's aware what day of the week it is, what underpants he put on this morning, or what he had for his tea!

It's Dyb Dyb Dyb short for do your best

Yes it should but that’s actually a Cubs thing rather than Scouts. Where l lived being in the Cubs first tended to suggest you were homosexual so you gave it a miss. To nullify this they came up with Beavers to get things back on track!

He started the majority of games at least in the second half of the season for a team that finished 2nd on 90 Points all whilst playing massiveley out of position

So yes i would say he is , i will bet you £5 he ends up at a top half champ team minimum

2nd on 90 points?? I must have missed that part of the season…at least do your homework before you come on here spouting bollocks

Not sure what mental gymnastics brought you to that conclusion

All jokes aside that line up today , the lack of rumours and replacing last seasons squad with Louis Barry is very worrying

Lets hope selles is a miracle worker

GK
Cooper
A. Davies

As it was. Ideally we'd have a better number 2 but this is fine, shame that Cooper hasn't hit the same level so far this season.

CB
Ahmedhodzic -> Tanganga
Souttar/Holding -> McGuinness
Robinson -> Mee
RND -> Bindon
+ Zatterstrom

Compared to other departments we've done a decent job of replicating the blend of attributes from last year. Took some late moves with Mee & Tanganga but got there in the end.

RB
Shackleton/Clarke -> (injured)
Gilchrist/Choudhury -> Godfrey
Seriki
Curtis
+ Polendakov

Shackleton is a non-entity for us so we've not got an experienced, dedicated RB although last year he and Clarke both ended up being injured so we know we could make do with Godfrey type if he wasn't a complete liability. Polendakov as a development player is a shrug, same for Curtis. Far too reliant on Seriki who's still inconsistent.

LB
Burrows
McCallum

As you were. 2 good options, mix of traits, shame that Burrows hasn't started well but I think that's probably more down to our general deficiencies exposing him a bit more.

CM
Souza -> ???
Arblaster -> (injured) / Riedewald
Peck
T. Davies -> (injured)
  • Soumare
  • Matos

Haven't replaced the reliable presence of Souza in midfield. Injuries to Arblaster and Davies have made us far too reliant on Peck. Short term signing of Riedewald provides a bit more experience and composure while Ollie recovers. Matos isn't good enough, Soumare seems like a good addition to the department but not sure he's ready to be starting regularly yet.

AM
Hamer
O'Hare
Rak-Sakyi -> Ogbene
Brewster -> Ings
Brerton-Diaz -> ???
Brooks
  • Barry
  • Chong
  • Ukaki

A mess. Haven't replaced the blend from last year and have added redundant bodies who are worse than what we already had. Barry, Chong and Ukaki can all leave in Jan. Ogbene looks ok but he's a downgrade from JRS and we've got nobody to match the physicality of BBD so we lack an outball on the wing. Ings in theory is good as a supporting striker but not sure how we've managed to replace Brewster with someone less fit, he's also not as quick and doesn't have the leap that Rhian has which was helpful last year when he played out wide against smaller full backs.

ST
Campbell
Moore -> ???
Cannon
One

We're massively missing a target man. Whether it's as someone to play it long to when we need to get out or someone for Campbell to play off, it's such a glaring weakness. Cannon continues to look ineffective. One looks bright but still very raw, he might be better off with a loan but prefer he gets minutes over Cannon/Barry.

If The Avengers can't assemble a squad, I'd place the blame at Patrick McNee and Diana Rigg. Surely Joanna Lumley could to a good job as a defender???
