Numerous pitch invasions and IIRC, 12 Santas wading in on that side terrace.

We had to not lose something like 7-0 and at that time you only had one substitute, so Basset named a keeper.

As you say, mayhem inside and out. That park in the neighbourhood was a right battleground.
In the aforementioned Park.
Was being chased by a policeman, with a snarling alsatian snapping at my heels.
Right up to the point, Where a galloping police horse, bulldozed into me and knocked me out! . . Twat.

Aye
Albeit I’m not convinced of the need to travel 170 miles in order to conclude that Gregg’s is shit ?
I went for other reasons. I genuinely can’t remember any detail at all about the trip, except that everything we got from Gregg’s was cold. Not luke warm or air temperature. Actual like-they-did-it-on-purpose cold

When we were moving back to the uk in 2018, one of the things I was looking forward to genuinely was Gregg’s. 🤣 Bristol let me down big time

Bristol City have just felt like the ultimate bogey club over the last few years. Particularly an evening match in December when we were flying and we threw away a lead to a team playing in that awful purple and green kit. Hopefully we break the trend next week!
I have similar concerns about them. Can play football when they have to, but seem to save those games for us. 🤷‍♂️

Devil's bump. I saw a police horse knock some one over in the park right after the game. If that was you, it sent you flying, I always wondered who it was.

Went to THAT playoff game, in fact that was my first away game. Rough as hell outside after the game with police horses in John Menzies. Happy days.

Hello from a Bristol City fan

Ahead of our forthcoming game I’m putting together the opening post for our forum’s (One Team in Bristol, https://www.otib.co.uk/?_fromLogin=1) match thread, which will be posted the day before the match.

I would like to include some perspectives from your fans so if anybody would like to share info please do, anything would be appreciated, fans thoughts about the game, players who have represented both clubs, tales from when we’ve met previously, a fans view on your season, etc.

Look forward to receiving info and to a great game.
First problem is your constant use of the bollocks ‘one team in Bristol’ crap line. There are two teams in Bristol. We get that you hate Rovers but it doesn’t stop them existing.

I’ve been down trashton gate many times and have enjoyed winning there. Moved down to Bristol from Sheffield when I was 8. How a city like Bristol can’t get a team in the prem when landsdown is one of the richest blokes in England is beyond me.

Still many of my mates are fans of the 82ers as well as you, so bring on the banter.

Up the blades

Honestly don’t have an opinion on the club(s) but love Bristol as a city. Used to spend a lot of time down there with work, and have very happy memories of Three Brothers Burgers, St Nick’s Market, the Brewdog pub (they once gave me a discount when I praised them for playing IDLES in there and I opined what a top band they were) and the Bridge Inn near Temple Row. I once went in there and these two rough-looking geezers at the bar were playing Shut The Box and I excitedly told my mate what they were up to. They stopped playing and turned menacingly towards me, and I was expecting to be told to fuck off back to the North and mind my own business, but they slapped me on the back and had a discussion about the game and the pub itself. Cracking.

Also there’s an absolutely amazing Lebanese restaurant right next to an equally amazing Indian restaurant where I’ve spent many a happy evening. And the Left Handed Giant is brilliant too.

I miss Bristol. I think if I didn’t have the kids I’d probably have moved there.

Much prefer the Gas.

Remember the cup game in 2012 when Porter scored the winner, and also an evening match in 2017, which I just looked up was a 0-0 draw.

I think that was when I had a few beers with Chris (BornOnShorehamStreet) and we saw a Cato look-a-like, in a laundrette that was a micro pub.

HH

Ah , May 89 , what a glorious sunny day before all-seater stadia , tickets in sdvance and away allocations , when you could just wake up in the morning and say "I fancy driving to Bristol today to see Santa's" , roll up and pay cash on the turnstile.
Only a couple of weeks after Swillsborough disaster and I recall getting crushed exiting the away end and thinking how terrible it must have been on the Lepers End

I hate Bristol City.

I have hated them since I was 10 years old and they relegated us in a play off game in 1988 and decided there and then that I hated Bristol City, and I’m impressed that 36 years later that I’ve managed to hold on to the wonderfully irrational bitterness.

Hope this helps
Go on lad you fucking tell em.😁

Aye, Proper sent me flying. . . Hit me like a freakin freight train. Another Blade I knew got hit as well (second name begins with S)
Saw him in the pub on way back to Sheff, comparing our injuries . A Mad, Mad Day.

Colston inflicted a similar level of cruelty on humanity in his time as Hitler or Netanyahu did in theirs.
Not sure I'd want to see a statue of either of those two on my way to work each day 😐
Not sure colston and Hitler should be put in the same bracket, wasn't aware colston tried to wipe out specific races of people mainly in gas chambers .yes he had a hand in the slave trade as did many Africans but the comparison is ridiculous.

You know when Roy does a view from, and we often reply, “they’re a weird bunch”. This has to be right up there, doesn’t it?!

From genocide to cold pasties, to shagging trannies. 🎵We Are Blades🎵

Agreed...Hitler would top a league table of murderous bastards, you're right.

I might start crowdfunding for a Peter Sutcliffe statue for top of Fargate? He only murdered a dozen or so, deserves a statue I reckon 🤔

It truly was a mad, mad day, glad you didn't get hurt too badly.

As Keen Blade says the crush getting out of the away end at the end of the game was freighting. My feet were lifted of the floor, you were just carried along in the crowd.

How no one got hurt was purely down to luck.

We should all be really proud that the OP asked us for input to a thread on their forum, so we created three pages of nonsense, non of which was deemed useable 🤣❤️
