I'm not concerned mate, just stating facts. We are considerably weaker now than at the play off final defeat. Other teams are much stronger
It’s not facts though really. You’ve said Wrexham are a better team. They’ve just signed the worse striker on our books. You’re throwing the baby out the bathwater.

Our squad has changed considerably since last season

No BBD, Choudary, Anel, Souza, Moore, Brewster, Gilchrist, Rak Saki, Holding, Clarke.

Possibly another departure before window closes?

And an unknown manager

Like I said, squad depth, we’ve still got a strong starting eleven. We need a right back and centre back to start, then the rest need to come in for squad depth and competition for places.

Nope he’s wank, he’s a good championship squad player for a mid table team. We have left him behind, he’s been overtaken by a 19 year old and wouldn’t get on our bench. To suggest he would get into our starting 11 is daft.

Over two teams you have provided 4 names which you believe would get into our first team proof that your initial assessment was shite

It's "throwing the baby out WITH the bathwater".

But we are considerably weaker, squad wise, than after the playoffs final defeat. That is all

He was a good championship squad player for a team that got 90/92 points last season

Think generally, Anels reputation has been a lot better than performances over the last couple of seasons.

It's all moot anyway, because we just can't let another player leave on a free. Wish him all the best though and hope we've got a replacement lined up.

Agreed.

Think alot of people still dining out on Anels first season with us pre glandular fever.

Since then, I haven't seen anything more than a stock standard Championship level defender including majority of last season.

One first choice and one backup would be my guess, don’t think Bindon was brought in to sit on the bench.
Probably bring in the Korean lad who can compete at right back and right centre back but then we needed that anyway.

It all well and good getting young players that can improve but it doesn’t hurt to get older really good players too.

If we add the Korean then I’m not against looking at someone like Ben Mee for a year.

Actually getting money for some of these players who have no intention of signing a new contract for us - unless we get promoted, in which case they’d need improving on anyway - is something that just makes business sense. It’s a shame to lose Anel and he needs replacing - and he will be - but he decided he wasn’t part of our long-term plans.

How do you know he will be replaced ? 5 days til season kicks off al be shocked if we get some one in before Saturday they’ve absolutely no idea what their doing

Don’t hate cashing in if he’s not going to re sign. Excellent player for parts of his time here, but I don’t think he’s ever quite regained the form of his brilliant first season.

And if we are playing as a 2 then perhaps we can get a decent replacement in.

My concern is we’re getting weaker and weaker. And we’ve yet to see any intention of permanently strengthening the squad.

Selling Anel takes us down to about 5.5 players who are clearly ABOVE average championship players and who we actually OWN. Its not much of a legacy from being in the PL

Cooper
Hamer (assuming we can even hold on to him)
burrows
O’hare
Campbell

I could hear arguments that blaster and peck could be in that category next year , but they are young / young and injured.

It’s also taking us on average about 3 weeks to wrap up even a loan signing. Not much confidence in our ability to operate quickly and effectively to bring the loans and permanents we need in.

I’d say you could argue as things stand we are weaker than last season, but there’s still time to strengthen
There is no arguing about it we are weaker than last season.
While the glass half full brigade will say the window is still open the first game of the season is just 5 days away.
We have one right back who's young and prone too injury. We are selling our best centre back and are left with a young centre half on loan Robinson and young Baptiste.
Plus the fact we are not really linked with paying any fees for players makes me in the glass half empty brigade with regards to our new owners.

Nonsense we are deffo weaker without Anel/Vini and Moore.
I can only assume you cant remember how weak our squad was this time last season
Or the fact that anel and vinnie Were broken men who had thrown the towel in or that kieffer Moore was our fourth choice striker for one position yesterday
