Hot on the heels of heartbreak
Would rather have Delia Smiths than have Dean Smith as manager.

I struggle to see why Dean Smith would be an option...Dean smith and someone from Spain were mentioned last week.
I just don’t understand how anyone can look at Dean Smiths recent record and think, he’ll sort this out. The same could be said about Wilder, but at least he knows the squad and they’re still playing his system.Dean smith and someone from Spain were mentioned last week.
Nathan Jones
I’d rather have ChlamydiaI’d rather have Gary Megson.
...he's been gone too longNathan Jones
Wilders record until our relegation is very good.I just don’t understand how anyone can look at Dean Smiths recent record and think, he’ll sort this out. The same could be said about Wilder, but at least he knows the squad and they’re still playing his system.
If we don’t go for Wilder I’d be surprised. Not my first choice, but seems the most likely
Watford he took over a side in 12th and finished 12th.Wilders record until our relegation is very good.
At Boro he did pretty well with them first season which wasn't a full one. Just tailed off at end. Then started last season poorly and was sacked.
Watford was a car crash already.
That's not really alot of blots.
Based on?I’d rather have Gary Megson.
Based on?
Yeah, I get it. He seems full of himself and has had major egg on his face after his two ‘big jobs’. I’m not sure I like Jones either.I was mainly being facetious, but I just don’t like him, probably unfair![]()
See now you’ve brought Dean Smith into things… he’s suddenly looking a lot more attractiveYeah, I get it. He seems full of himself and has had major egg on his face after his two ‘big jobs’. I’m not sure I like Jones either.
But… he’s shown in the past how he can galvanise a depressed club (Luton), build an infrastructure and give them an identity. He got supposedly average players punching above their weight, playing with passion and uniting a fan base. I think he could be a good fit for us.
Of course, aside from his personality, there’s some major red flags with Jones. He failed at Stoke, but I think Southampton should have given him the first six games of this season. Russell Martin hasn’t convinced either.
Some managers need a second home. Harry Bassett was a prime example. I don’t think it’s inconceivable that Jones comes good again, somewhere else. But I concede his level may be Championship at best.
I’d rather roll the dice on Nathan Jones though compared to Dean Smith. I’m gutted for Hecky, I like him a lot, but he inspires zero confidence right now.
Of those, Parker and Beale are the only two I instinctively react violently against.Quick list on replacements for hecky:
Javi Gracia
Ralph Hassenhutl
Scott Parker
Chris Wilder
Michael Beale
Patrick Viera
Solskjaer
Bruno Lage
Dean Smith has become this decades Alan Pardew. Did a good job at a Championship club, moved on to another and got them promoted before he then had a shot at the Premier League. Ultimately he failed but now keeps getting employed by people based on what he did at Brentford and Villa in the Championship.Dean Smith is one of them managers you look at and go "How the fuck does he keep getting jobs?"
You forgot to add Fallowfield to that listQuick list on replacements for hecky:
