He had a decent record at St Johnstone last season. Hearts picked him on a free transfer. That would've been a good opportunity for us to come in for him given we aren't paying a fee for anyone. Possibly a late developer at 25.

Surprisingly, more than I thought I would.

I've a mate who's a Leeds fan. Due to their ownership also owning Rangers, he watches a fair bit of Scottish football with a view to "talent exchange" (similar to Chelsea and Strasbourg.

In doing so, he's seen a lot of McPake through his time at St Johnstone. First I heard of him was when he sent me clips of him against Rapid Vienna. Clips of last night (followed by a quick browse on Transfermarkt) are the basis for the post though
