....would you be looking at what fans are saying about you, ie, not running the channels, not holding up the ball up, not showing for the ball and being totally innocuous during games. Would you think to yourself " I need to show them what i can do" instead of carrying on week after week looking totally lost?
I can't get why he remains so static instead of putting himself about and at least showing a bit of fight and effort.
Everyone would love him to turn it around but sadly i think his ship has sailed.

If I were Tom Cannon, I'd fuck off in the morning,
I'd fuck off in the evening, anywhere in this land

If I was cannon I'd keep trying to win the headers from long balls launched forward against 6ft4 defenders & I'd keep trying to make runs in behind the defence hoping 1 day one of my team mates will be brave enough to try an early forward pass in behind that is weighted perfectly into me.

But at the same time I would take some inspiration from O'hare and run my bollocks off pressing the defenders, which shows willingness to fight for the shirt and hopefully fans recognise that I'm putting the effort it, rather than waiting for something to happen.... unless I have been told to hold postion and not do that.

Ps, I would also be visibly pissed off and arms up when I make a run and no one tries to play me in, so not only do my team mate's know want it and its on the fans see it (as they don't often see everything thats around the pitch thats off the ball) :).

Clearly other clubs aside from us think there is a player in there.

He can have a good finish on him. Some of his goals have been well taken. But he's also missed badly at the same time.

But like many have said it's the play around that that is difficult. Timing of runs, hold up play, positioning.

I would entertain an offer if it's high enough. Anything above £5m and re invest.

It's startling that in less games he's scored more at Preston and Stoke.

So difficult to judge him too harshly as he is still young and our strikers get so little service. I've often seen him make a run, point where he wants the ball only for the ball not to be played through for him.

The team either need to adapt their game to him or he needs to adapt his game to the team and be less one dimensional.

Compared to McBurnie for example, McBurnie can hold up the ball, score, defend and play mind games with defences.

After having him 18 months our coaching staff should know what type of service he wants and if he's going to be our main man in years to come should be doing that, the same with Hamer, our most creative player and playing him on the wing, manager and coaches are useless, sorry, but it's the truth,

If I was Tom Cannon and I saw what the fans are saying about me, I'd think about replying to the fans - but then nesh out at the last minute and just stand there looking gormless instead.

I think any footballer that looks on social media for coaching advice would be on the entirely wrong path.

Looking for fans views on his performance would also be a red flag.

Listening to and working with coaches and other players to see how he can improve his game and the chances created would be the best route to take.

Cannon needs a nasty streak, a bit like Billy. Make the runs to force the pass, if the ball doesn’t come, tell them.

Cannon is a decent finisher, but he needs to make the moves so players can play him in. He doesn’t need bags of pace, he needs to move ahead of defenders. He's very low on confidence but he needs games to get chances and for players to work with him in games. He needs to run himself into the ground for 60 mins each game and then give One his chance to shine after him

Unfortunately at £5m you’ve got nothing to reinvest, you’re -£5m out of pocket.

You’re right but the difficulty is he’s not quick enough to trouble defenders with those runs, even when the pass comes. How often has he got clear of a defence in behind in his entire time here?

His goal at Burnley a couple of seasons ago showed great movement and finishing. That’s the reason we paid money. But it’s very low percentage stuff, especially for a weaker team (as we are now) to produce regularly.

I’d love us to unlock what he has. But I think the odds are very slim.

So you'd turn down 4m?
