I would like to see Basham left out for tomorrows game and go with this ; Chris has some headaches around who starts up top with Billy and also how he can fit Chapman into the current formation.

Moore

Eel Wright O'Connell

Freeman Lafferty

Coutts Fleck

Duffy

Sharp Clarke

SUBS

Hussey Scougall Lavery Done Ramsdale Chapman Basham

Chapman deserves a start and Bash needs dropping- truly awful footballer
FFS
I know he's not everyone's cup of tea but we must have 9 absolute world beaters out there to be on a 15 match unbeaten run and also carry the likes of Bash and Done. He's not perfect and can be limited but he brings energy in a variety of positions. If he was truly awful I'm sure Wilder would have had him sussed by now

Whilst I'm not against Leon getting a few games under his belt he's going to have to pick up and understand how to link up in this team. There were three occasions in a 10 minutes spell on Saturday where he killed forward momentum by running offside just before he was going to be set free through on goal.

He's probably used to more vague passes rather than the precision our three offer but will only be worth a place if he can back himself to trust the pass more.

Great observation and something I was going apeshit at when he was doing it, I can see Leon chipping in with quite a few goals this season but he is a very frustrating player.

I'd start Done until he gets up to speed.

We'll dominate possession again, so I feel we've got to have Chapman on the pitch. But I don't want to give up on the Clarke and Sharp partnership yet, and we'll probably have a lot of crossing opportunities so I'd like us to have Clarke in the box. We could easily switch to a back four to protect the left side when necessary.

I'd like to see us go with the 5-2-2-1 we played against Orient
Moore, Freeman, EEL, Wright, O'Connell, Lafferty, Coutts, Fleck, Duffy, Chapman, Sharp
We'd get a lot more movement, extra bit of creativity and flair with Chapmans introduction alongside Duffy, also means we can keep Billy in the box instead of him drifting wide.
Whilst Basham hasn't done too bad, feel he needs to sit this one out at the expense of getting more technical ability on the pitch, especially if Walsall plan on parking the bus

I suspect Duffy and Wright will be out.

I would like

Moore
Freeman EEL Bash O'Connell Lafferty
Coutts Fleck Chapman
Sharp Lavery (as opposed to Clarke as I feel we need pace up front and Done isn't on form)

Clarke deserve the opportunity to prove himself but when he plays I worry there's always the chance that, if things aren't going in, the other players will start to panic and hoof it to him - like in the grisly draw against Rochdale.

Obviously he's been disrupted go injury, so this is a little unfair, but I don't feel like he's really offered much at all, so far. At least Done stretched teams.

I would rather he play a Chief-style role this season, instead of being a player that we actually rely on from the start.

We seem to have to try and fit him in the team in whatever position he's not worst in.
His miss the other day was extraordinary.

Not a world beater but certainly not 'truly awful'. Way I see it with Basham is that he gives us an enormous amount of options if we want/need to change formation. That said, I thought it was a bit daft to be playing him ahead of O'Connell at the back.

Chapman may be worth a game but also wouldn't be too upset to see Done back in either.

If Done comes back after being dropped, he'll be fired up to charge around like a silly bastard for 90 minutes rather than his usual lazy and slovenly approach.

*Really torn between Done, Clarke, Chapman or Lavery for that last spot.Think I'd just about give it Done for now.

although infuriating at times, basham is a useful utility player in an age if swiching formations
id like to see chapman start.. Doney needs to get rid of the beard.. am i the only one that thinks 'strollabout' lafferty is the only passenger in the current 11?

Lambert on a spying mission tomorrow night :(

He wont see anything of him, 65% possession, 25 shots, 12 on target, 15corners, and a 5-0 hammering, oh and they play the majority of the game with nine men and eel plays right back and doesn't play very well, well thats what usually happens, aint it?

Wright isn't playing so anyone with half a brain cell should put their mortgage on a defeat for us tomorrow night. ;)

I've got a full brain cell and I'm backing us to win. Wright has done very well for a 2nd div cast off but I wouldn't say we are about to fall apart just because he's missing. Hope I'm wrong but I think most of our problems will be our attack trying to get through the mass ranks of Walsall players on the edge of the area for 90 mins.

Jamie Wilson anyone, injured or...on a two year contract, surely better than Reece Brown if fit. Haven't picked up any news on him.

Chapman deserves a start. Done had a good run and brings energy but little else, Clarke is an impact player if we need to go long late on, Lavery has plenty of hype behind him but not done much as a sub when used. I know his only start was against Orient but he looked a class act and also has looked pretty good when coming off the bench, got match winner written all over him.
