Until summer of 2027How long was he contracted until anyway?
There’s no way he would have been headhunted.
Owners see him as a cheap , low cost safe pair of hands while we establish ourselves as mid table (hopefully) team…
Their communication is laughable … they use a lot of words without really saying anything of substance
That first paragraph is the biggest load of garbage I’ve read in here for a while.Despite the anti Wilder cult on here - few of them match goers by the way, and many of them pig fans - it's the obvious decision to make and a popular one amongst the vast majority of Blades. A no brainer for the owners who cost us promotion with their stupidity sacking him after Sunderland after the sterling work done that season in very difficult circumstances. He saved us last season and the majority are grateful. Many people wouldn't have had the humility to do that.
As it is the squad is a total mess, there doesn't seem to be much money about and the squad is already light one of our best players from last season. Those with emotional intelligence and realistic expectations will be settling for consolidation which will be difficult this season as we are shitola on paper with the possibility of our few quality players leaving. If you go into it expecting promotion it's a you problem.
But Miss , MissSilly little cunt. This always starts happening once the school holidays come round.
A lack of faith in the current regime, does not mean that subsequent success would be met with disappointment.Didn’t want to start a new thread but just a thought…lot of doom and gloom around atm but what happens if things go ok this season?
How will the forum cope?

Strong start giving us hope.

I see both sides and am happy to criticise performances through the season but it seems a small minority on here want us to fail purely so we can ditch Wilder.A lack of faith in the current regime, does not mean that subsequent success would be met with disappointment.
I've been plenty vocal about how sceptical I am of us returning to the days of Wilder v1.0. But if I like what I see on the pitch this season, I'll happily eat humble pie (as I should if that scenario comes to pass). Can't speak for everyone of course, but I'm sure most doubters will feel the same way.

Which is odd.
Truth hurts![]()
It is odd. The only poster I can think of who is genuinely balanced is luffenhamblade and I commend him for it. But most posters, on both sides, can sustain a reasonable debate. It’s just the extremists, again on both sides, who always derail it.Seeing both sides is usually odd, as it is simpler to adopt one side of an argument, then you only have to praise anything which supports your narrative and dismiss all else, or mock it.
God it must suck hating the manager and all the players for your own team.Popular![]()
And how early to leave the ground and how many matches you can be bothered to go to despite having a season ticket.Last enjoyable season the Hecky promotion season and cup run? It's completely understandable that some are a bit fatigued with it.
Will be another season of seeing how late we leave the pub to get to the ground![]()
I cannot believe any true United fan would want United to fail.I see both sides and am happy to criticise performances through the season but it seems a small minority on here want us to fail purely so we can ditch Wilder.

Yeah…I’m open to the possibility some on here are pigs in disguise…but some really do seem to hate the bloke more than they love Dem Blades!I cannot believe any true United fan would want United to fail.
I don’t like or rate Wilder but no way do I want United too fail just so I am proved right.
If by some miracle Wilder suddenly morphs into a tactical genius and gets us promoted, or at the very least plays attractive football with the emphasis on attacking rather than hanging on for the final third of the game, then I'll be the first to say I was wrong.
2.0 also should have got us to 101 quite easily and autos, I don’t have a problem with us losing the playoff final as anything can happen but there were games to be won2.0 got us 90 points. This idea that the only good spell was the first one is rewriting facts
Strange because of the 3 broad groups I discuss United with, it’s the exact opposite. I could name 20+ Blades I know, again the bulk match attendees. You can count on one hand those in the anti Wilder campThere are 3 broad groups of people I discuss United with - mates, work colleagues and people who sit close to me on the Kop - bulk of them regular match goers.
In all of those groups Wilder is pretty universally unpopular (in this current spell).
Other than the cult on social media, I struggle to find poeple who are actualy fans of this version of Wilder.

Points totals are redundant if they don't deliver success.2.0 got us 90 points. This idea that the only good spell was the first one is rewriting facts
Yeah, folks talking that position are bizarre to say the least.I see both sides and am happy to criticise performances through the season but it seems a small minority on here want us to fail purely so we can ditch Wilder.

Apparently the only reason anyone would want a different manager is that they hate wilder. The "hate" thing re CW gets brought up by various posters but I've genuinely not seen anyone posting that they hate CW. Questioning if he's the right man for the job now or that he isn't a patch on CW mk 1 but outright hate??
On the flip side of that I would genuinely say there are posters on here that support CW more than they support SUFC.
Apparently the only reason anyone would want a different manager is that they hate wilder.
If that’s what they need to protect their egos then leave them to it. Every time someone tries to defend him they have to pull examples up from 6 years ago rather than the recent evidence of their eyes.
There are some crackpots that seem to genuinely hate him, I don’t particularly like him and don’t really value the badge thumping ‘one of our’ nonsense, but my opposition always comes from a place of wanting unit to be better and do better.
I don't think they are. It's not normal 3 sides finish above 90 pointsPoints totals are redundant if they don't deliver success.
I don't ignore the final haul of that season, but we failed to win promotion. I'd rather us win 80 points and get promoted, than 90 points and fail to do so.
Not normal no. But compare our overriding sentiments about that season to those of Sunderland fans. I bet they don't care a jot about only getting 73 points.I don't think they are. It's not normal 3 sides finish above 90 points
