Good news. Bit of commitment both sides.
Now we all know what is happening and wilder isn’t going anywhere, everyone can fully get behind him and the team and see where it takes us.
Agree with the sentiment but the majority it would seem are just waiting and hoping for him to fail. Anywhere near the play offs this season with this squad and no money would be a masterstroke. If anybody can he can.

From bottom of the Premier league with 104 goals conceded to...
Third in the Championship and a dismal defeat in a Play off Final to....
Thirteenth in the Championship to .....

Rewarding the guy who was manager through the majority of this dismal period with an extra year.

Why do we seem to find the only penniless Saudi Prince and then the only two Americans who seem to reward failure?

Gives the club a bit of stability and also any signings coming in seeing his contract was up in 2027 means they might be wondering what that means for them end of coming season.

Doesn't mean he definitely will see it out or stay longer. But realistically for him to stay longer you'd think we would have had to have seen success.

Giving him a new contract doesn't make much difference really. It won't stop them sacking him if we do badly enough, just gives him more money for a pay off. If we have a decent or better season he'd have got extended at some point anyway, probably for longer than this deal.

Even if you still think he's the best man for the job, why would you not wait until Christmas to go into talks? It's not as if anyone is going to be storming up Cherry Street and demanding that they talk to him for their job. If it's still going OK, whatever, if not, then it's cheaper to move on at the end of 26/27 (or earlier)

Get the feeling some blades can't wait for it to go wrong so at least they can turn around and pretend they knew best all along when they can't even get blades promoted on football manager 🙃
More like some blades are just not looking forward to the boring slow sideways and backwards passing we had last season.
But at least we'll get alot of badge slapping amongst the negative football, and maybe a bit of singing and table dancing in the Banner Cross hotel when we have drawn 1-1 with Lincoln.

Was hoping he would be released so that he could come back a fourth time but it's still two more times than Jesus.

Doesn’t mean a great deal they could sack him within 6 months we had a right clown at the start of last season and he got the sack after 3 months, if they really want to do well with Wilder then they should back him in the transfer market and throw some of their own wealth in.

I think its a positive sign of intent. Come out with the statement as they have done, back their manager. Now its all well and good getting his contract sorted, back him in the next few weeks before the brum game, and then we could be starting to gather momentum

Anywhere near you say? Well on Betfair where the market is the combined view of all punters we are 7th favourites to win the league. So the "weight of money" is saying we should make the play offs.

Does that mean we can’t get rid when crowds drop off and we are languishing in the bottom six ….ever
What were the crowds before Wilder came in league 1? He's the one responsible for the extra bums on seats in the first place. That's what success brings. On your other point, any manager can be sacked. We're not privy to the details of the contract and any caveats therein.

In the 5 seasons outside the impossibly under funded Premier League seasons, even with the initial league 1 rebuild, and last seasons shocking start due to the crap squad he inherited, our average finishing position under CW has been 3.8 (1st, 10th, 2nd, 3rd, 13th)

Very rarely agree with you as I want Wilder to be successful. However this autumn is key for me as to whether he can take us forwards or we need to move on. Really hope it is the former but don’t see the rationale in a new deal when we have no idea how it will go.
