The Times They are a Changing
At the risk of pissing on everyone's chips and making myself as popular as Jimmy Saville at a kids party, I'm starting to wonder when it will stop.
I'm mostly worried about the players (and Wilder) thinking they've achieved something insurmountable. It's Division Three. We should have been out of here a long time ago. If we rest on our laurels, we'll be back her in no time.
I'd like to see them coming out saying, the real work starts now etc
Right, I'm off to fire flares and smoke bombs into the local nursery school...
Haha,You'll not piss on mine Roger owd son.
Perhaps the real work began the moment Chris and his assembled team set foot in the door. He has undoubtably galvanised not just the players but the majority of our 'Family'. He /they have spread their infectious 'CAN DO' attitude from top to bottom and given us the belief that we are no longer a Sleeping giant. The potential we have is plain for all to see and to turn a team and many fans around in such a short space of time is testament to Chris Wilder.
I am not a great lover of thinking negatively. It usually brings negative results so thank heavens Chris has a positive ,can do ethos built on integrity .
Are you suggesting it was easy work because it was only Div. 3.
Yes it may be more competitive in the Championship but our Chris has not just completed a renovation so much as built a state of the art monolith with plans and room for new extensions, on a solid foundation rarely seen anywhere amongst the 91 other clubs, let alone Bramall lane. What a fabulous time to be a Blade
Division 3 or not his achievement is worthy of the praise he receives in my view because the most crucial work,ie, the foundations are solid enough to hold us up for some time to come.So what we now need is to further support him and our 'Family' to maintain and enhance this seasons major achievement.
In all my years I have never witnessed anything like the scenes last night around and at the Town Hall. The connect between us and the club through Chris and Alans work with the lads on the pitch is far more cohesive than anything I have previously witnessed and many others no doubt
He deserves Messiah status for my money for that alone. If you saw the joy he loves to bring not only to the players but equally importantly to us,you would know he is THE ONE we have wished for because he is quite simply one of US. He wants and understands everything that we do and knows how to produce it.We have a serious gem and need to back him to the hilt so he can take us to the 'Promised Land' if indeed that's what the Premiership is. Sure it's got money sloshing around it,but it is also littered with egotistical overpaid chumps who largely care little for the Club they are currently representing, despite all the badge kissing.I doubt Chris wilder would subscribe to any of that.I am delighted I support a 'Family Club'with some proper values more recently restored.
Achievement is achievement and need not be watered down because we didn't just win the Champions League.
We are on a journey that has only just begun.Let's not undervalue it and believe it now gets harder and a subsequent disappointment next season is therefore forthcoming. We can be guilty of false expectation which says more about ourselves than others so I shall not be getting carried away.
Perhaps in many ways it will be easier now all our 'Ducks are in a Row'. The strength and unity counts for so much in my book and I believe some of the negativity from some fans at the Lane has been counterproductive, not helped by others mistakes.
But let's face it we are all flawed. We all fuck up.It is human nature that no amount of wealth will ever fix.The recipe is there ,let's not over season it? Shove it in the oven at the right temperature, give it some love and nurture and it will become the gourmet dish fit for all.I am excited at the prospect of what is to come. Not because we have to share our fair city with them that shall not stain my keyboard and opportunity to revel in the bragging rights, but because I love our club and want it to be the best it can be.
Perhaps the real work is for us to do. To galvanise ourselves as Fans and get behind everything we possibly can with admiration, adoration and most importantly the same'CAN DO' as our Chris.I have seen nothing to suggest we shall be 'Resting on our Laurels'. The last three games would have been a perfect time for that. The past is consigned to history.Forwards we go with our eyes keenly on the road ahead.Let's do it together me owd.
Come on You Red n White Wizzzzzzzaaaaarrrddssss
