We've only won Division Three...

At the risk of pissing on everyone's chips and making myself as popular as Jimmy Saville at a kids party, I'm starting to wonder when it will stop.

I'm mostly worried about the players (and Wilder) thinking they've achieved something insurmountable. It's Division Three. We should have been out of here a long time ago. If we rest on our laurels, we'll be back her in no time.

I'd like to see them coming out saying, the real work starts now etc

Right, I'm off to fire flares and smoke bombs into the local nursery school...

Haha,You'll not piss on mine Roger owd son.

Perhaps the real work began the moment Chris and his assembled team set foot in the door. He has undoubtably galvanised not just the players but the majority of our 'Family'. He /they have spread their infectious 'CAN DO' attitude from top to bottom and given us the belief that we are no longer a Sleeping giant. The potential we have is plain for all to see and to turn a team and many fans around in such a short space of time is testament to Chris Wilder.
I am not a great lover of thinking negatively. It usually brings negative results so thank heavens Chris has a positive ,can do ethos built on integrity .

Are you suggesting it was easy work because it was only Div. 3.

Yes it may be more competitive in the Championship but our Chris has not just completed a renovation so much as built a state of the art monolith with plans and room for new extensions, on a solid foundation rarely seen anywhere amongst the 91 other clubs, let alone Bramall lane. What a fabulous time to be a Blade

Division 3 or not his achievement is worthy of the praise he receives in my view because the most crucial work,ie, the foundations are solid enough to hold us up for some time to come.So what we now need is to further support him and our 'Family' to maintain and enhance this seasons major achievement.

In all my years I have never witnessed anything like the scenes last night around and at the Town Hall. The connect between us and the club through Chris and Alans work with the lads on the pitch is far more cohesive than anything I have previously witnessed and many others no doubt

He deserves Messiah status for my money for that alone. If you saw the joy he loves to bring not only to the players but equally importantly to us,you would know he is THE ONE we have wished for because he is quite simply one of US. He wants and understands everything that we do and knows how to produce it.We have a serious gem and need to back him to the hilt so he can take us to the 'Promised Land' if indeed that's what the Premiership is. Sure it's got money sloshing around it,but it is also littered with egotistical overpaid chumps who largely care little for the Club they are currently representing, despite all the badge kissing.I doubt Chris wilder would subscribe to any of that.I am delighted I support a 'Family Club'with some proper values more recently restored.

Achievement is achievement and need not be watered down because we didn't just win the Champions League.
We are on a journey that has only just begun.Let's not undervalue it and believe it now gets harder and a subsequent disappointment next season is therefore forthcoming. We can be guilty of false expectation which says more about ourselves than others so I shall not be getting carried away.

Perhaps in many ways it will be easier now all our 'Ducks are in a Row'. The strength and unity counts for so much in my book and I believe some of the negativity from some fans at the Lane has been counterproductive, not helped by others mistakes.
But let's face it we are all flawed. We all fuck up.It is human nature that no amount of wealth will ever fix.The recipe is there ,let's not over season it? Shove it in the oven at the right temperature, give it some love and nurture and it will become the gourmet dish fit for all.I am excited at the prospect of what is to come. Not because we have to share our fair city with them that shall not stain my keyboard and opportunity to revel in the bragging rights, but because I love our club and want it to be the best it can be.
Perhaps the real work is for us to do. To galvanise ourselves as Fans and get behind everything we possibly can with admiration, adoration and most importantly the same'CAN DO' as our Chris.I have seen nothing to suggest we shall be 'Resting on our Laurels'. The last three games would have been a perfect time for that. The past is consigned to history.Forwards we go with our eyes keenly on the road ahead.Let's do it together me owd.

Come on You Red n White Wizzzzzzzaaaaarrrddssss

Exactly.....why denigrate such a fabulous season, and with probably the best squad we've had for years?

As has been said before, you can only beat what's before you, and that's what we did, more than any other team in the same division, and in the process we achieved that rare feat of 100 points.......what would the OP wish to add to that? Have we not progressed, have we remained stagnant, have we once again disappointed our brilliant supporters? No way Jose! We're worthy Champions, and with good reason......if anyone wishes to nitpick and find fault, that's their issue, but we did all that was asked of us, and we did it with aplomb. UTMB!

Attention seeking loser [/QUOT

No offence but you my fellow Blade ought to have more class than to criticise another fellow Blade. If you have an opinion why not make a reasoned argument with it that shows your ability to share some intelligence? or at the very least banter.

Is it not about time we put that kind of reaction behind us? You didn't even explain why you think he is what you claim. Bit like kicking a kid in a Pram and running away.

Do you suppose they are the standards that Chris Wilder adheres to?

Just a thought but have you heard of 'Mirroring' ?I will give you a clue, it's nowt to do with a Tabloid.

Be nice fella, you will find more joy. Wereall Blades aren't we?

With regards to the op, hardly a w***ers post as some might be claiming. I hope this season isn't the height of SUFC's ambition. I've just heard Wilder on television and it sounded as though this is only the start as far as he's concerned.

Everything about this season has been brilliant, I've never known us boss a division like this before, even in the 4th and it's only right that we should all be celebrating, but at the end of the day it is only the 3rd tier. On Sunday Gary Sinclair waffled on about this being what we've all been waiting for, I hope he meant getting out of this tin pot division, a division SUFC should be embarrassed to be in for 6 seasons, but I suspect he meant winning the 3rd division title, winning any kind of pot. The Blades winning something like the FA Cup is something that we all should be waiting to celebrate.

We've all had a great season but this should only be classed as the start. We'll it should be for any Blades with any proper sense of ambition.

You "hope this season isn't the height of SUFC's ambitions" ?

Why would anyone even think that was the case?

You doubt Wilder's ability to keep players feet on the ground? His ability to know when it's time for them to relax and celebrate and when it's time to work hard? Really? After how he has managed them this season? Come on!

I agree we should have been promoted much earlier, but the measure of our promotion, being champions, winning the trophy, 100 points, Billy getting 30 goals, should be celebrated.

I'm not offended mate,we're all entitled to opinions, but I've already been lectured by Linz on the matter. Maybe you should copy and paste as I've seen lots worse on here than my comment. In my opinion it was a negative post at a great time in sufc's history.

I have seen worse too but have not singled you out specifically . I haven't been posting long and it shocks me that we would slag each other off at all.I am sure Linz reminded you we need to be polite to each other to deserve respect in return.Of course we will not all agree on everything but it does not mean we need to be less kind.
I agree, It is a great time in our history and all the more reason in my view to create more solidarity and focus on the common ground we share.UTB

I tend to agree to be honest, I think Wilder should have won the Championship this season, and it's yet another failing of McCabe and the Prince. We need to look for a new manager to ensure next season we at least get Champions League Qualification or lots going up. FFS

This is an interesting concept. I think where McCabe and Prince have really been neglectful is in not placing large amounts of moolah at the disposal of the powers that be so that the 24 clubs above us in the Championship were not deducted all their points and demoted to the division below on the grounds of intent to be in administration in the future. Where the fuck is Sepp Blatter when you need him eh?

I'm going to put it out there, and I'm sure a lot of people won't agree, but in my mind not going up in 2012 as runners up or playoff winners, in 2013 in the playoffs, in 2015 in the playoffs, and not even being in contention in 2014 and 2016, it's all been worth it because without that lead-up we wouldn't have had this absolutely special season. We could have been promoted in any of those years and we'd have missed what has been a phenomenal record-setting year. Damned right we should celebrate it.

Correct. I've put in 55 years of watching the Blades and, while winning Div. 3 is hardly La Copa del Rey, it's where we're at at present. Not only that, most of us can sense a turning point in our history. If we'd have gone up in 2011-12, we wouldn't have been remotely prepared to survive in the Championship. This season represents a new blank page in United's history.
On Sunday, I was bitching about how poor we were, and the bloke next to me said 'Stop complaining. We'ved had a great season.' I agreed but said I wanted 100 points. As I said, 'It's like reading a great book and finding somebody's ripped the last few pages out.' Let's manage expectations, but refuse to accept the dross we've had to put up with.
