I agree with everything you’ve said. Although the is poor in terms of PL funds he did spend £60m last year which for us as a club I believe is a good amount.
The pit fall of Covid is some chairman will bridge the gap financially others won’t. The ones that don’t will end up towards bottom of the table.
Think wolves might be the most affected ,their owners are a travel company and seemed to have been struggling financially even before covid

Villa on the other hand will just throw hundreds of millions more at it including all our well researched and painstakingly selected targets

Be interesting to see what the promoted teams spend Leeds have already spent about fifty million just to keep players they had on loan ( including augustin who they don't want now )

There’s really only 3 teams in this league who can throw shed loads of money around
city / Chelsea and Liverpool
The rest are just as tightly ( financially wise stuck together )
Spurs just borrowed over 125 million due to losses due to C19
Manure will lose 50 million if they dont get champions league , and
Arsenal are really badly in debt and won’t be spending big according to there manager
I prefer our steady as she goes approach get good mid range ( for other clubs 10 to 20 million) for us top end and build for the future , to push us on to the next level ,
please for the love of god , don’t go all billy big bollox thinking we’re it when it’s only our 2nd season in the premier league ,
if we’re in the premier league in 5 years time , after banking over half a billion pounds then we can realistically think bigger and push on to the next level
Constant top 10 to 6th every season

cant find the tweet now. Think it was Andy Giddings interview with CW. Said something like we won’t be signing any big name players.
So that's a no to Assombalonga. Too big a name😉

Spurs 170 million.😎

How much do you think our transfer budget is for next season?

Wilder has already said “don’t expect any marquee signings”.

Also how many first team players do you reckon we will get?

I don’t think they’ll be any big first team signings due to covid. I think we will get some cover players and only get first team starters, if we lose a big name to another team.
£50 million plus whatever we make on the sale of other players.

I reckon around 40-50m but when he says no big name signings I understand that to mean no 15/20m players. Can see us getting 4-5 in with the budget and a loan or two

I think you’re wrong about Liverpool and Man Utd in particular as Liverpool have limited funds and Man United will spend big regardless of if they make the CL, but I get your overall point.
I think a few clubs may surprise you and push the boat out in order to take advantage of a depressed market hoping to reap the rewards at then end of next season.

Didn't he say don't think man city think liverpool 🤔

I agree but I can also ask Man Utd / City / Chelsea / Leicester / Wolves / Tottenham and they’ll say if you keep spending money eventually you’ll get it right.

It’s easy to use an example where it implodes. But money in this division is still 90% of it all.
I agree but realistically we are not competing with those 6 clubs : yet.

Expect Sander Berge to be the biggest fee taken from the Summer Transfer budget

I understand the point you are making but if you take a look at the league table you will see that we are indeed competing with those clubs. Sure we have possibly over achieved this season but CWAK & the board will be striving to improve the squad & kick on from here, if you fail to prepare then you prepare to fail. We cannot stand still as it equates to going backwards, he will be telling the players they have to do better year on year, once you think you have made it things start to go wrong.

True, but the original point is that just throwing money at it doesn’t necessarily work.
What we have to do is get the best value for the money we spend and do that better than the other clubs.
I suspect we will and therefore will not be standing still.

Possibly overachieved ?
You need to check yourself

This attitude is the biggest threat to stability and progression that wilder and the club faces

Call it the Charlton effect they wanted rid of curbishley as they were sick of just surviving every year ,now look where they are

I don't need to check myself at all, I am a realist & if you say that you thought we would have had a top ten finish this year I would say you were being optimistic. We will end up where we deserve to this season, & that is in a position far higher than any of us hoped.

I see all the rumours thus far seem to be linking SUFC into recruiting either yet more midfielders or defenders. I truly hope that’s all there is, just rumours. Surely the lack of an attacking threat is much urgent? It's hard to see a team to survive in the PL without any proven goal scorer capable of shipping them in more than a handful in a season.

It's Collins Morris. Sorry to be pedantic. There is a big marquee signing about to be unveiled and I can't say anything more. That's the type of guff he posted. MB. Lol!😎

Just roll the conversation back to the first post; we can compete with Wolves and Leicester but in addition to the other 4 named it's Arsenal and Liverpool we won't be competing with - on financial grounds. Of course as we, Wolves, Leicester, Burnley have proved once you get on the pitch it's a different matter.
We are not going to be competing with any of the Big 6 any time soon as Spurs the poorest of those had an income of £380m/annually. (7th was Everton £180m) So as much as people want us to push the boat out it will make no significant difference to the players signed and is just jeopardising the clubs future.

WSB .....that's an exotic username. Stocksbridge branch of SUFC? LOL!😎

I thought it was no budget and no signings this window ..... every single day in January until Sander was signed and then disappear.

Knew it was a big wedge alright ,
they earn 800,000 pounds per home game , through catering
We get £xxxxxx. I'll catch you one day across border in Belfast. Spoons in the centre is good fun.😎

I understand that to mean no chance of landing the Greek international Theodorous Giannfantissimmo Popadissolous Wankimo.

This is correct but when we are 17th close to bottom will they remember we’ve not spent the same money as those around us.
