Some cheaper/free signings I'd consider for the summer.

Walker, Choudhury, Souttar, Helik, Brannigan and Laurent

Provided the rumours about Walker being able to leave Burnley for free if they are relegated are true, I'd make him one of the first signings.

Choudhury, covers 2 positions, both of which we are short on (RB and CDM) going into next season.

Souttar, yes it's a risk in regards to match fitness, but for me, the potential rewards outweigh that risk as he's the ideal partner for Tanganga.

Helik, he might be 30+ now, but he's been really good for Oxford ever since he signed for them.

Plus, if Oxford are still interested in Matos, see if we can work out a Matos + cash offer (if needed for the valuation) for both Brannigan and Helik.

Josh Laurent, I know he's 30 now but I can't believe he's out of contract at a soon to be relegated Burnley this summer, is a solid player in the championship and is well worth a look.

The wages and signing on fees my which Walker, Choudhury and Souttar will be demanding will make them anything but cheap signings.

I will be surprised if Walker comes back as a Saudi with an offer of a large sum of money come in for him.
I dont rate Choudary. But if Souttar is fit, it will be a great signing.

I just want young hungry players with speed and strength. We’ve missed out on players like Richard Koné and Poku from league below who would’ve been exciting signings. Kalvin Phillips wouldn’t excite me, he’s had his ‘trial’ and it couldn’t have gone worse.

I’d like to see the back of Peck, Burrows, Rothwell and Campbell to be honest, I think they’ve all been poor this season and long term wouldn’t stand a chance in the league above so what’s the point having them around? Rather take a punt on someone else.

Burrows was one of those young exciting signings from a year before, he was able to be a bit more lacks defensively last year, as he had Anel, Vini and Souttar covering him. Especially when Anel was playing left centre half
