Who knows what the budget will be or who Wilder will sign. Last summer if you were told we'd spend £17mil on a striker in the summer and a further £22mil on a midfielder in January you'd have laughed at them.

I wouldn't consider McBurnie or Berge marque signings, but they were certainly signings of intent.

Personally I think we need to be looking at replacements for Baldock and Stevens. I say replacments as we need better rather than just back up. Give them both some competition to up their games even more.
Obviously a reliable goal scorer is a must, but they don't come cheap and everyone wants one and a replacment for Lundstram.

I can't see any household names signing and that's probably what Wilder meant by no marque signings. He's never been drawn to big name players.

This is correct but when we are 17th close to bottom will they remember we’ve not spent the same money as those around us.

Our fans won't, some still think there is an everfull pot of gold in football and to those fans I would remind them this is football not D&D. But I'm pleased to see the club being run in a responsible fashion so we don't end up like Wigan, Bolton or Bury.
