Not so long ago they produced a banner bragging about not paying vat..now they are up in arms Chancerlot doesn't pay vat on time or asks fans to pay it.

From what I recall there was a year waiting list with actual Desso-we’d booked in a year in advance. Chansiri couldn’t wait and got some other company in that could do it that summer and we’re obviously sub par!

Hard for them to comprehend but the parachute payments are there to stop clubs from going out of existence and if they didn't exist the newly promoted teams would simply be given a larger lump sum up front and expected to budget accordingly

Utd and burnley would probably not exist now without them, even the mighty Leeds would probably be on their fourth or fifth reformation

For me the promoted clubs need to be given more money and a greater allowance on psr to spend it upon promotion and relagation

The parachute money is keeping the championship alive in my opinion as the newly promoted clubs tend to cherry pick the biggest talents from the league and pay fees far and above what they would for foreign talent but most newly promoted teams don't have the scouting networks to take advantage of that

If for example Premier league loans were at the same level as the championship that gravy boat would stop dead with the money instead going on wages and loan fees for premier league loans or foreign riskier ones and the championship would miss out on huge income, with the big guns taking academy products for a lot less than their worth in a deflated market

Pigs need to realise that if they backed their manager with some real quality loans they would be in the play off chasing pack but they did all their dough in channers early years and know they have to watch all the well run clubs chase that dream while they sit at the back of the dance hall bitterly looking on

Compare and contrast to wilder taking us straight from league one scufflers to the prem on a shoestring budget playing innovative attacking football that was analysed all over the world as something remarkable and tactically creative and difficult to defend against

Now we are reaping the rewards of that
Now for me fanny rohl is a great coach and you can see it but he is just a disciple of pep, klopp etc it's all high press and highline and attacking in moments where you have created an opportunity by setting traps or manouvering your players around the pitch like chess pieces

It's all very robotic and structured but falls down when the player lack quality to think for themselves either defensively or offensively

A coach only gives a structure a manager builds a team, a togetherness, a unity
That sometimes makes the whole greater than the sum of its parts and although rohl is in my opinion doing a good job with the grunters it's limited to analysing his laptop and reacting to changes whereas the top coaches have players who can think for themselves and react on the pitch whilst staying inside the structure

It's the modern era of players letting the coach take all responsibility from the and I'm not sure it so that will last much longer as players like to enjoy their football
Anyway back to parachutes and I think we will see changes as their is growing discontent at the lack of competition being provided by the fresh cannon fodder being pushed out in front of the big boys and I can only see it increasing and spending restrictions loosened

He was on the previous night slagging off Wednesday again.

He was throwing pretty of petrol onto the fire bringing up reports that apparently Röhl has agreed to leave Wednesday and going to Southampton.
He said he knows the reported down in Southampton who released this news story and said he was a reliable source.

Then Staton spent a good 5 minutes slagging off Wednesday calling them a joke club that has no prospects.
He defended Rohl wanting to leave SWFC and said that any manager with ambition would prefer to be at Southampton than at Wednesday.

Any neutral would think Staton was a Blade the way he always praises United and Wilder.
He does praise Rohl but regularly criticises Sheffield Wednesday and even mentions the poor atmosphere at Hillsboro too.

I'm not on about him slagging them off but whether it's negative or positive he, s always pushing the pig narrative and then that's the main topic on the show but when he's not there no wed fest, how many time do we need to know what a genius bog roll is and how shit scamsuri and weds setup is we all know, it get tedious after a while, if no blades call up and there's nothing happening fair enough but when we're at home midweek and the pigs ain't playing I don't wanna hear all the wed crap (again) because when wed did play and we didn't who were they talking about? wed of course, they weren't talking about our situation which I wouldn't expect them 2 if their the feature match is them lot

I dont live in sheff anymore so listening to it has been my way of feeling less isolated from the local football scene for years. I have not bothered to listen much over past few months, mainly because of the Rohl wankfest. Making out as if ipad Danny is some kind of managerial genius, when his team are mid table in a very poor league. Oxley is as bad as anyone on there for it as well. And as u state, whether its positive or negative the pigs are usually their main focus

I understand now…..agree he does talk about Wednesday a lot more.
Think he tries to be a little controversial to encourage callers.
Radio Sheffield mentioned that they always find negativity encourages more callers than positive callers.
Regards negative stuff there’s much more at SWFC than SUFC.

You get some Wednesdayites ringing up defending their club….saying how attractive the job is for any manager….if Rohl ends up going.
Love it when Staton shoots them down…telling them they have one of the lowest budgets in the league, one of the worse pitches in the league with sub standard training facilities, which are no better than average league 1 standard. Someone mentioned Hillsboro being a great ground and he again cut them down….saying it’s hardly changed since 1990 and is now a bit of a dump that isn’t modern enough to bring in additional revenue.

If you’re a Wednesday fan the truth hurts. It was only the other day he said “Sheffield United are light years ahead of Wednesday, both on and off the pitch”.

I wouldn't go that far to be honest, I think a lot of it is rob casts his line out and all the wendy bite and phone in, they've been casting their line out for a certain Rotherham caller but he hasn't bitten (yet)

Heard a rumour that Rupert Staton has been sacked.

Not sure what happened but it seems like Rajesh Staton won't be heard again on BBC Radio Sheffield.

Any phone in show is going to be pretty lowest common denominator, and they piss everyone off - so the balance can’t be that bad.

Matchday coverage I think Rumplestateskin and the team do a great job, listen to the output of other local radio football when you’re out and about, some amateur shite out there in comparison.
 

All supporters think it is biased against their team. the local teams think its biased to the Sheffield clubs, the S6 Wallahs think its blades biased, so you have to think its probably about right in its balance. they can only put on air those that phone in. my fav ending from a caller who phones every programme was 'Ill let you get on then and get back to my jigsaw puzzle' Of course every one has an off witch if you don't like it, don't listen to it.
