Huge win tonight

What are you thinking? 0-7 or 0-8?

Get a grip and get a spine.

Difficult times admittedly but we are 2 points off top with only 1 defeat in 5 and finding our best shape in a reshuffle.

I expect a win v Wolves.
Indeed. By the way in the League it’s 1 defeat in 6 (not 5) so even better.

Achieved by a team in transition.

Add the League Cup games and it’s 1 defeat in 8.

Which reminds me me, we’re on a cup run.

Needed that win, but also a decent performance defensively for the likes of Tanganga, much better from him

Peck redeemed himself for his error, rothwell did well.

It wasn’t Donovan’s game tonight.

Big praise for cannon again, well taken goal and ran his socks off
Watching the goal again, I think Peck is given the ball in a terrible position after Donovan holds it too long (he repeats that again in the same half) and then it's Hamza who gives Peck the hospital pass, he even apologises when it goes in

As others have said context is key.

All the talk about replacing Wilder and “recruitment” is for the birds. We’ve been stitched up with a clueless set of owners who’ve put the club in a dangerous position.

Wilder has done what he can with next to no resource. It’s possible we could replace him and get slightly better results but do you trust this mob to get it right?

The reality is we are a mid table Championship side ( albeit with a likely points deduction hanging over us), we’ll be competitive but come up short against the better teams. Enjoy the wins however they come. It’s going to be a slog, bit like the early Warnock days.

That shouldn't be the only reason to keep him and thankfully it isn't.

I'd trust this mob to do better than the last manager because the last manager was selected by Bord and his AI.
Lets be fair they couldn't get things much worse than Selles, so i'd expect next time they'd do a better job, maybe by luck than judgement.

However, for now, we're doing alright with what we have so far. I said last season, the Selles and Bord damage would last far beyond last season's sacking of Selles and so it is proving. We have to do the best with what we have and as you say, it won't be pretty, but we'll win a few, lose a few, enjoy the wins when they come.

What we have to do is beat teams like Bolton and Blackburn. There's not that many of them in the division, but both looked poor sides and we have to beat those sides that don't have the dept of squad we have. We'll struggle against sides who've spent well, have depth and pace, especially from the bench, even if we make it hard for them to beat us.

Last night we played smart, kept organised, pressed, changed the positions where players have played more or done more running. The encouraging thing so far is that the subs we're making are generally unforced, but planned. The players know they're going off before the boards gone up in most cases.

he's done well to get 9 points from these players from 6 games in.
In a 46 game season that spread would get us close to 69 points.
Last season that would be 8th spot. Play off position this season!!
Still think avoiding relegation is the goal though.
Depends if we get a 12 point deduction.

This season is a relegation battle make no mistake.

Made the point on Saturday that it’s vital we get results against those likely to be in and around us at the bottom.

Blackburn fall in to that category so I’m happy and thought we looked good 2nd half and enjoyed watching.

Wolves Saturday is a match I expect us to lose heavily.
We won’t be losing against Wolves on Saturday.

Zero points from first six matches meant we had an 18 point deduction last season - and you can add crushed morale to that.
So even if we're deducted 12 points thsi season I reckon we've a reasonable chance of 8th.....
