Now, we don't even have that. We are full of solid players who can't create chances.

Tonight we have one attacking player in the bench. We have one coming back from injury - and that's it. That's your plethora of attacking talent.

We are going to always be 1 goal away from at most a point and most likely a loss.

This transfer window will relegate us. Unless they somehow rectify it in the next 5 hours (they won't)

Probably the worse transfer window I’ve ever experienced supporting United.. and before folk jump in mentioning Deane/Fjortoft, I wasn’t around then, I were still a scratch in my dads bollocks.

I don’t think you can really separate them - this transfer window is the direct consequence of last summer (and the pointless spending in January).

If it was just the AI shite, we could’ve written that off and bounced back over a window or two. The killer was the expensive long contract signings at the end, with little to no resale value. We spent our last parachute money and our next few years’ transfer budgets, and locked in expensive wages that would always force us into a fire sale.

The club needed someone other than the manager to say ‘no’ to panic buys. If we had just gone with what we had last summer before the end of the window, we wouldn’t have gone down and we could be rebuilding now and tying down our assets so we can sell them for proper prices to fund the club.

It's more who we've lost than who we've signed and them not being like for like swaps. I just hope that we can find an approach that gets the best out of them as opposed to win the ball and give it to Gus in seasons past.

Last year was a scattergun approach with wasted loans and nobody who was any better than what we had. Matos, Zätterstrom, Polendakov, Ukaki, Ings, Mee, McGuinness (reverted to type last night), Soumare, Ogbene and others I've probably missed when we'd have been better off with two or three decent players than fork out for that rabble who either never played or were no good when they did. Tanganga is no great shakes either and Bindon was ok without being outstanding.

We were under no illusion that we'd lose players. We thought Hamer was off after Wembley but he stuck around longer than anticipated. It was always Peck, Seriki and Brooks who were at risk and we thought we'd lose two from three.

Wilder has trimmed the squad where he can but it's no secret that we're an attacking player short and that if there were bids in for Cannon, we should have entertained those if it meant we kept O'Hare.

It's the imbalance that wrankles with me.

Having to sell and reduce the wage bill was always going to be the case. I didn't expect us to be strong this season and realistically, there was every chance we would be weaker than last.

However, to have such an unbalanced squad with a dearth of attacking options having lost Hamer, Brooks, and COH is disgraceful imho.

It's not about having replacements as good, it's about having options and depth.

It feels like we've got an abundance of similar midfielders with little attacking and creative threat, and two really creative players at best.

If we bring Robinson in (and I know it's only an if) then that will tell me where the blame largely lies for the imbalance.

I think this transfer window is a direct result of loss of parachute payments and needing to keep within SCR rules. We've had players on significant wages for the championship and been able to cover those up until now.

The main issue we have is the loss of attaching options. I'd like to think that we had plans in place should we lose any of the players we have lost but I expect some of those options might not have wanted to come to us given the cloud we are currently operating under with the owner situation.
