I don't see much difference between 4-2-3-1 and 4-3-3 to be honest.
Example:
4-2-3-1
Ramsdale
Baldock Egan O'Connell Norrington-Davies
Norwood Fleck
Burke McGoldrick Sessegnon
Sharp
4-3-3
Ramsdale
Baldock Egan O'Connell Norrington-Davies
Norwood McGoldrick Fleck
Burke Sharp Sessegnon
Once you decide one of your midfield 3 in 4-3-3 will be a little more advanced, it's hardly different to suggesting you'll have a no. 10 who will be slightly withdrawn behind your centre forward in a 4-2-3-1. It's then two wide players trying to get the ball in the box for the striker or supporting Midfielders.
No matter how it gets drawn on the chalk board the two formations probably have very little practical difference.
I think too much gets made of formations to at least a point. It is how you decide to play which seems to be Jokanovic's main difference that we will aim to dominate possession more, something I feel Didzy would help with.
That said it is a pity we didn't try any of the above to answer some of the open questions. Burke isn't a striker. But if he role is to run like buggery and put the ball in the mixer, maybe he will be a greater asset. He can certainly strip someone for pace. Does Billy really need it on a plate? He just needs it in the mixer enough times and he'll do the rest.
