Meh. Highly doubt that theory. Most fanbase demographics are largely the same. He played a level up for us, had lots of chances and struggled... badly.
There he obviously had a decent debut and has springboarded from there. If he put in the same showings for Forest as he did ourselves their opinions and patience levels would be nay on identical.

I don’t think you can call 779 senior minutes as ‘lots of chances’ personally. The lad was given less than 9 full games to ‘prove himself’ in a seriously poor team, in the best division in the land.

I would have liked to see him stay and fight for his place, but considering we already have Stevens, RND & Osborn that can all play there, it made sense to get him some game time elsewhere. He’s playing very well for Forest by all accounts & showing that there’s a player in there.

Max Lowe isn't a very good footballer

The Forest fans are raving about him.
Statistics websites have him as one of the best performers in the division, the best performing defender.

I'm not disagreeing with your verdict based on what he's done in a Blades shirt, but a bad footballer can't deliver consistently high performances at this level. Lovely assist yesterday and I think he's had a couple more on top of that.

I'd be tempted to bring him back for the remainder of the season and send RND out on loan, at least then we'd have had a fair look at each. Because whilst RND had performed pretty poorly for us this season, Lowe has been putting in sterling performances down the road.

I thought he was hopeless and the Derby fans weren't overly fussed about losing him either but he sounds like he's having a cracking season, in a position I still think we need improving.

I think it's fair to say RND got these sort of reviews when at Luton too

At Stoke he got a mixed bag. Started well and then deteriorated.

The other thing, RND went out, did OK and we gave him a shot. He's come up short.
Lowe has gone out, done more than OK, maybe he's earned his turn? I don't think we'd be losing anything in switching them.

All I'm saying is RND was better for longer out on loan. Based on his time at Derby and what I saw for us this is the exception not the rule

I've always thought he was good going forward but awful defensively. Hopefully forest want to sign him.

Let's wait and see there's a bit of time before the end of January , but as it stands now l would be in favour of a swop sending RND out on loan and Lowe back

I was talking to 10 Derby fans in the pub a few weeks ago and all of them to a man said that Lowe was a better footballer
than Bogle. I was quite surprised but they were all adamant about it.
The only Derby fan I know said the opposite. There's a fair chance neither are good

At the time of the transfer all Derby fans i talked to said Lowe was better player too... But that Bogle had a higher potential ceiling

I thought it was pretty universal that Derby fans really rated Bogle and didn't mind offloading Lowe.
As for RND, he certainly impressed for more games as a whole on loan but in the end.. were Stoke that sold on him?

He might have had a flash haircut, or nice car that CW didn't like..

So he had to go.

About 20 games. Lowe being decent in circa 10 at Forest. RND being average-to-poor in a similar number here.
To be fair, I'm working from the assumption that both are pretty poor options. My RND comp was more based on the reports Luton fans gave him

Well don't assume Carlton Blade . Lowe is Roberto Carlos reincarnate now in my mind. So piss off with your assumptions. I'm trying to get a bandwagon going here and don't need your negativity.

I see absolutely no reason to let him remain at Forest now having read Roygbiv latest view from the loans thread.

He's become a crucial player for them and it's in an area where we have question marks. They are 7 points ahead of us having played 3 more and can definitely be considered as direct competitors for a play off spot.

It's dog eat dog and the prize is so high.

Get him recalled before the transfer window closes or even better, an hour before transfer deadline so they can't replace him!

Or, at the very least, given the financial considerations, tell them we want to either recall him or sell him and for them to make a suitable offer if they wish to keep him.

It would be crazy if we were sat there at the end of the season watching Forest in the play offs while we weren't.

We have to be ruthless. Our best defence has Davies in over Robinson so whenever the former is fit, he needs to be back in. Same with left wing back. If Lowe is better than Norrington-Davies and Stevens right now, he needs to be in our team.

If it's like our recent loan deals where 2 of 3 parties must be in agreement then he won't return sadly (although agree he definitely should if he could)

Forest fans already murmuring Lowe wants to make the deal permanent..
