HaHa only another 761 signings and you will have got them all right.

Probably one of those who thinks our recruitment team only consider about 10 players in total aren't you...

only me who thought he wasn't all that last season in a good WBA team #underachieved

West Brom were a bit of a mess to be fair.

I thought he was more of a CB previously but when I saw him against us at RB I was impressed. Looked very athletic and energetic with more quality on the ball than I expected. I think he'll develop into a good RB or RCB. He'd be perfectly suited to RCB in our team and I could see us ultimately signing him permanently.

I think he's fav to go to WBA tbh

It'll come down to more chance of game time in the Championship than with us in the Prem

I'd say it'll come down to Holgate wanting more chance of Prem games than what WBA can offer. Long term, I doubt he's in Everton's plans and this would be a case of shop window or us buying him.

He'd choose us. He'll want regular PL games. We're probably able to offer him that. We're more local for him too.

He's at a perfect age now where if he goes out on loan, he'd have to do very well for the parent club to consider using him themselves. I think there's a high possibility that it's a loan that would become permanent.

My abiding memory of him as that after replacing Harvey Barnes at West brom quest ( I think ) did a feature on him and his intelligence in attacking areas really stood out and it looked like west brom had signed a right player ,I don't think he really looked as impressive after that and I remember in the game against us he kept blasting cross after cross absolutely no where

Still think he's a good player though

Not sure we’ll be offering him regular prem games at all. He has to get in the side like the rest of the players

He may come here but it won’t be on that basis imo

I think Sun are behind Sunjihi. If true even with our recent record busting transfers I don’t see us competing with Bournemouth and Burnley as they are established. Unlike our other signings this would be a no risk proven PL move and I think he would choose others over us.
That said nothing would surprise me this transfer window, this would be our number one coupe.

Forget it for £10m. Not now.

£5.37m rising to £7.64m, maybe.

I guess it kinda depends on how badly we want him. If we are looking to sign him, make him first choice, he may choose us over a backup role at Burnley and Bournemouth. I agree though if they both seriously want him then we will probably miss out.

We should do the deal if it’s on offer at that price. It covers an area of weakness with a very good player for our level so the value to us increases, but it’ll need to be done soon to beat any rivals which again means we pay a premium.
If we could get this done as a perm it also leaves us a loan spot for Chambers which would give us a pretty much perfect transfer window.

Chambers and Holgate will probably be our ideal case scenario.

It's certainly mine! Well, either Holgate or Matt Phillips.

Very big ask. But if we pulled it off, wow.

Agree. If we can Mason Holgate in on a permanent we should do. He's a good age, with resale value & would come in & compete in a couple of our weaker positions and the price is still relatively reasonable due to a lack of Premier League experience.

Crucially it would leave the other loan spot free for someone with some Prem experience to come in & solidify the midfield. I'm doubtful on whether Arsenal will allow Callum Chambers out this Summer, Amartey might be a more realistic option.

If both are secured, I’d struggle to see an obvious weakpoint in our squad. Currently I do have concerns around centre half and full back as well as depth in the pingmeister role but this would give a very good level of cover in all three.
If Carlsberg did transfer windows. 🙏

Spending '£10m' on Holgate could be comparable to spending '£20m' on McBurnie in that it's an initial overspend that is worth it long term.

It would secure our long term RCB option, and therefore our entire long term back 3 - until JOC leaves at least.

£8m tops though I would hope.
