CONFIRMED Mason Holgate

Could depend on the Maguire money splashing around, If Leicester move for Burnleys bloke with funny name they could then blow us out of the water. Was impressed with Holgate at Baggies last season, although he did look a little highly strung at times, but I like a bit of spirit.
 

He'd be my first choice, RCB and RB competition. We'd just need a CM then and Amartey can cover a range of positions - we'd have lots of versatility in a limited squad.
 
This one definitely has legs, Djibril Sidibé going to Everton which will allow Holgate to leave either permanently or on Loan.

Has to be the time to sign Holgate now. Especially as Everton are going to be spending more. They'll want to raise some cash.

I think we should leave a good bid on the table (below £10m) and see what happens.

Do the same with Matt Phillips.

Can play RWB. RCM and even up front as well as his more natural position in AM.

We need more attacking strength down the right side. He has the athleticism and quality.

I had him down as a RW, don't see him as a RWB, don't think he has any defensive attributes TBH. I also think he looks heavy and has been injury prone.

The injuries last season would be my only concern. How did they affect him and will they recur? This could reduce the fee though, as with Robinson.

I agree he doesn't look as fit as he has previously but a decent run without injury will see him back near his best.

Not a natural defender so would probably only play him RWB in the more winnable games but he'd be a stand out option as one of two behind a striker against the top sides.

Any prospective manager is likely to want to fully evaluate his squad. I can't see them selling a young player to a rival in January. He would be a very good signing for us though.
 
Assumed he was off the menu now he's playing for Everton.

£14m is very expensive though.

Yeah but about right for a 23 year-old from a Premier League rival though, these days.

Plus they only have Mina and Keane at CB. They will be signing a CB rather than selling one.

Coleman is back now and before Coleman returned from injury he was only featuring in about 60% of their games (12 out of 19)

Coleman is a RB. I know Holgate can play there but they also have Sidibe, so I reckon it would take an injury crisis to play him at RB.

interestingly with all of Everton’s injuries in midfield Holgate played at DM for the majority of the game today.

He would be a good signing and would be perfect for the RCB position but I can’t see it happening in January, maybe in the summer.
 
Even if he came he'd be playing 2nd fiddle to Basham. That lad is ripping it up at the moment and I don't see Wilder breaking up this back 3 just yet.
 
Glad we're looking at him, would seem to be perfect fit to go into the squad and push for a starting place when needed.
