So Union flag now associated with EDL?Jesus that's hideous. Looks like an EDL logo. I'll take the sponsor without the weird Union Jack, just keep that USG: Australian Forex Marketplace and it'll look nice.
There are many on Twitter/Facebook saying "I haven't heard of them". That's kind of the point of sponsoring a Premier League side. This time next year, 1Bn+ would have at least had the logo surreptitiously branded onto their retinas.
For a few million squid I’d wear a shirt with my grannies fanny on it!Jesus that's hideous. Looks like an EDL logo. I'll take the sponsor without the weird Union Jack, just keep that USG: Australian Forex Marketplace and it'll look nice.
I had one, but it was a bit baggy on me.For a few million squid I’d wear a shirt with my grannies fanny on it!
My view is coloured by my job but I'd say yes.
Don't underestimate how excited people get when they sponsor a Premier League football club or the like. At some level, there's an element of dick waving about it so the sponsor will want hyperbole. They're very excited and probably don't like to believe that a lot of people might not be.
United will also be looking ahead at the next deal. They need to show they're a willing partner who are happy to work with a sponsor to make as much noise as possible.
I also think it's worth looking at the language of today's announcement and comparing it to some recent announcements - United / USG's is very professional, matter of fact and completely lacking in cringe. There have been some shockers and I think United have got it spot on.
Final point, this has all happened in the vacuum of the summer where we're all so bored that we care how the grass at the Lane is growing and get excited if there's a private plate in the car park. It would've all felt completely different, i.e. like a really minor story, in February.
Was your head poking out of the top?I had one, but it was a bit baggy on me.

No.
But he also hides.Spencer Davis would have been a great addition to our midfield, apparently he can keep on running.
AyeThat’s a few shirt sales less to Irish and Scottish Blades then.
They don't make the first page of a Google search for USG - unlike a dodgy firm of bouncers and various other giants of the commercial world.
How is the grass going on? Doesn’t look ready to me? Are you concerned? If not why not?My view is coloured by my job but I'd say yes.

Could have been Tango........Aye Desun is still my orange juice (concentrate) of choice
Fuck your sunny delight shite
Great deal for the club and i'm delighted with the added income.
Slightly disappointing that it's not a 'bigger name' but money talks I expect.
*oh, and the logo is fugly.
After the court fees are paid out of it there's enough left for a packet of Space Raiders
By "Bigger" do you mean "recognisable" ? these lot must be a decent size
Not wishing to be facetious but why? It would still look the same, be the same etc etc.If the Lane was ever ‘re-branded’ I’d be fuming
They do in Australia.

If it brings in more money, better facilities etc etc I think we should accept it.
