There are many on Twitter/Facebook saying "I haven't heard of them". That's kind of the point of sponsoring a Premier League side. This time next year, 1Bn+ would have at least had the logo surreptitiously branded onto their retinas.

Aye Desun is still my orange juice (concentrate) of choice

Fuck your sunny delight shite

Jesus that's hideous. Looks like an EDL logo. I'll take the sponsor without the weird Union Jack, just keep that USG: Australian Forex Marketplace and it'll look nice.
For a few million squid I’d wear a shirt with my grannies fanny on it!

My view is coloured by my job but I'd say yes.

Don't underestimate how excited people get when they sponsor a Premier League football club or the like. At some level, there's an element of dick waving about it so the sponsor will want hyperbole. They're very excited and probably don't like to believe that a lot of people might not be.

United will also be looking ahead at the next deal. They need to show they're a willing partner who are happy to work with a sponsor to make as much noise as possible.

I also think it's worth looking at the language of today's announcement and comparing it to some recent announcements - United / USG's is very professional, matter of fact and completely lacking in cringe. There have been some shockers and I think United have got it spot on.

Final point, this has all happened in the vacuum of the summer where we're all so bored that we care how the grass at the Lane is growing and get excited if there's a private plate in the car park. It would've all felt completely different, i.e. like a really minor story, in February.

My view is coloured by my job too. I just feel that the club (or writer of the article... who was no doubt instructed from a higher up), has mislead the supporters somewhat and overegged the pudding, all to please the new sponsor. There could have been a better balance.

Anyway, this is definitely happening in a vacuum somewhat, so I'll stop wringing my hands and wait for something more exciting.

They don't make the first page of a Google search for USG - unlike a dodgy firm of bouncers and various other giants of the commercial world.

They do in Australia.

How is the grass going on? Doesn’t look ready to me? Are you concerned? If not why not?

Great deal for the club and i'm delighted with the added income.

Slightly disappointing that it's not a 'bigger name' but money talks I expect.

*oh, and the logo is fugly.

As long as they pay up front I dont really longer care, most current sponsors look crap and are meaningless

By "Bigger" do you mean "recognisable" ? these lot must be a decent size

I can only imagine someone on the commercial team got over excited when they managed to 'secure an agreement' and that led to the silly watch this space announcement.

To build it up like they did is pretty sad. What do they think we are exactly?

Anyway, a random combination of letters representing something we've never heard of. As you were.

But we do have a union jack. That's fine. It shouldn't be the worst looking sponsor we've had. And it reinforces our Brexit image nicely.

If the Lane was ever ‘re-branded’ I’d be fuming
Not wishing to be facetious but why? It would still look the same, be the same etc etc.
If it brings in more money, better facilities etc etc I think we should accept it.

If the sponsors colours on the shirt are those in the launch to-day then fine by me - Red White and Black respecting the tradition of the Club.

Wouldn't work in Sheffield anyway. People still talk about Coles Corner which ( for any youngsters ) is opposite the cathedral, Coles moved from there to Barkers Pool in 1963!

My seat is in the John Street stand and I've no chuffing idea what the sponsers name is so good luck trying to rebrand 'The Lane'.

If there's a few bob involved let em have at it.
