Hecky out

It's a forum.

I thought the OP was OTT at the time, we were having a wobble, but that's all it was, the wheels hadn't come off.

Just hold your hands up when you call it wrong, we can forgive. Nicolas Copernicus has, so forgiven in my eyes.

Stevo is digging his heels in, and that's making him look like an even bigger 🤡

But thats exactly my point. There's nothing for other posters to 'forgive'. Another poster made what they thought was a valid point at the time. Thankfully it didn't go the wrong way and we recovered to go up comfortably but that doesn't invalidate the views made at the time. PH recovered well but he wasn't helping himself or United at the time the original post was made imo. They had their view and it was as valid then as yours or mine is now. As I said, we can all be experts with hindsight.

It was a complete over reaction. It was surprising at the time, and looks ridiculous now.

Of course, we all have opinions but most of us don't want the manager sacked after a couple of bad results.

Oh ok. I suppose your right. String him up by the testicles then. That'll teach him.

Must admit on page 1 of this thread I asked to be signed up for the Hecky out brigade, I’m glad now nobody high up listened and I’m officially cancelling my subscription from said brigade, however if he re-signs most of the out of contract oap’s I might be tempted to reconsider lol.

I made a spreadsheet* of all the original posters in that brigade as being people whose views should be read with a level of scepticism in the future.

I've downgraded you to code yellow, Hackney.

*I didn't.

This thread and this poster shouldnt be singled out as if it was a one off or at this stage of the season it was understandable
A huge section of uniteds supoort this season has been embarassing all season and now we have gone up.and proved them wrong tgey have switched focus on next season and how shit all our players are

What a wonderful existence

If we have another really poor season in the PL next time and are relegated by Christmas, I still want Hecky in charge for the return flight!
Look at the challenge and available squad and funds. The task is unbelievably difficult to keep us up.
We need to evolve the squad with younger players replacing the old guard.
Hecky has shown he can develop players. That is our only way forwards without a sugar daddy - which we are not getting btw.

Must admit, there were times when I questioned some of his decisions, tactics and approach and wasn't convinced he was the man to take us up.

BUT......

When you look back at what he's achieved against a background of off field turmoil, to keep himself and the players focused on their aim, to ride a wave of injuries and get there with games to spare is remarkable. The amount of games where his team have scraped a win or a draw, particularly in those horrible long distance trips we historically lose demonstrates a focus on the job which is second to none and an incredible ability and understanding of how to get the job done.

To make a timely comparison, the Mark Selby of this seasons Championship managers.

Should we therefore keep him even if it looks like we’re coming back down?
Unless his presence is clearly destroying the team, as we saw with Wilder, I hope any new owner keeps him. I’m massively sceptical that they would though, whereas I think the Prince wouldn’t sack him.
He’s a perfect choice to bring us back up, and has a unique relationship with the current players as well as the academy graduates.

Have we been relegated already,oy vay?

Read the first line again, and maybe the last.
“Should” makes an important appearance in both.
Should, could, perhaps, maybe are all irrelevant, there are a lot of ingredients to go into the mix first, ownership, budget, comings an goings,e.t.c.before a ball has been kicked

Read it again it’s should is completely relevant, in fact it’s crucial, hence it’s inclusion.
If we aren’t struggling then it won’t be a worry as Hecky wouldn't be at risk.
It’s not a complex post that you seem to be struggling with.

What i'm struggling with is why it's necessary to speculate what MAY happen next season,it's usual that the promoted teams are favourites to go down,we've just got promoted, lets you and i enjoy that and the rest will come later.

What makes you think I’m not enjoying it?
What I’ve said, on a thread which highlights the knee jerk nature of calling for the managers head, let’s learn and not do that again next season.
Learning lessons from our experiences is important.
You, for example, we’re saying we werent a top Championship side and no one could turn us into a promotion winning team only 6 weeks ago. You were also saying don’t sack Hecky if we do go up.
I don’t get the difference, aside from the fact I didn’t speculate that we weren’t going up.

I did say that, you are spot on,at the time we didn't LOOK like a promotion winning team, maybe testament to Hecky's man management skills.Be interesting to see how he performs in the Premiership.

Bring on my serving of humble pie,F.B.

A good dose of Kryptonite needed for the OP.. Why do we want to sack the manager if the team has an off day.? He's not playing, he didn't miss a penalty or open goal.! dont lets go down this road again next season when it will be tougher. You have been warned.....

Enough is enough.

Clueless is being polite. Picking that team in one of the key games is pathetic.

Hope the tinpot prince sees beyond the Wes and ref debacles! This was on our manager picking the same 3 midfielders every game to be over run, same back 5 who panic under pressure and launch the ball, and 2 midgets up front

Thanks for last season fella, all built on N'Diaye but you are so far out of your depth in this league

Get him gone

Keeping him is a declaration of submission...... but the fans can hardly complain when there's no clamour from them for his sacking. Prince will take that as permission to avoid another pay off

This is horrible. I don't know what the plan is, what the tactics are or where the motivation comes from. Absolutely abysmal. The Newcastle game I could, if not forgive, at least accept as a freak but this today is far worse for me in a game with this importance.

Sorry Hecky but you shouldn't continue in this position. No fight or passion at all. A lack of quality I can accept but the lack of desire is unacceptable.

hes got to go
if he doesnt walk i will lose all respect for him
