FAO Anyone who questions the shape and system we're playing: You're talking nonsense

I know a couple of league football managers and a few EFL players and it’s a good job that they don’t say what they think about the fans of their clubs. They have zero respect for the opinions of fans and the players I know see fans as some kind of oddity to be laughed at. I can kind of see their point because they tend to think of them as the middle aged blokes who wear 10,000 pin badges on a match day, or the 50 year old, overweight woman with a tight fitting club shirt with the name a of 22 year old bloke on it.

Let’s face it, some fans are weirdos.

They hadn't won it ever before him either.
But I wouldn't bet against them this year.
Liverpool have shown that there not the team they were last year.

Man Utd won't win it, it's only a matter of time before Pogba decides to screw it all up

Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs aren't good enough

Everton certainly aren't

It's Leicester or City for me
Think your forgetting Man City.

I don't know about you, but lots of people have opinions about their boss or other work colleagues, etc. but they keep their opinions to themselves for the benefit of everyone.

Wilder would do well to do the same, is my point.

He is a fan and has loads of mates that are fans its not rocket science

Why did he feel the need to have a dig at fans who suggest playing 442 instead etc. is what I don't understand?

Wilder's press conferences are what's laughable, embarrassing soft ball questions because the interviewers pity him.

On the flip side, Chris Wilder took the time to write a letter to a friend of mine who was going on honeymoon and would miss the first couple of games of the 2017/18 season. It was given to him at the wedding.
Part of read, "As a season ticket holder, your timing could've been better, but we'll still be here when you get back, I wish you a long and happy life together"
He's earned the right to respond however he likes as far as I'm concerned.

At the end of day, Wilder can say what he likes and try and justify whatever he wants but the league table tells the story and can't be argued with. He can shout his mouth off knowing that besides this forum and social media, there isn't an angry mob waiting like Bryan Robson had or people throwing their season tickets at him.

He stopped us from turning into Notts County MK2 and took us on an unprecedented journey but he's now unravelling his own work and isn't really in a position to have a go when he's now overseeing such a spectacularly bad run of results.

So if in his next press conference he says ' Nine Inch Nalis talks nonsense on the forum and should shut up' you would deem that appropriate, necessary and professional because he has earned the right to behave in such a way because of a lovely letter he wrote and two promotions? '

Football is a strange industry, I know Wilder is a bit more ‘normal’ than the likes of Pep and Lampard but he’s still grown up in the bubble of professional football so will not know the norms of the likes of me and you.

If I told customers at work to keep their opinions to themselves they’d probably go elsewhere, in football that doesn’t happen.

I just can't see an instance of a manager laying into the fans like that. The only example given is Clough hitting a fan in the 1980's.

I can just about think about Steve Bruce saying that Newcastle fans are asking for too much, but that's about it.

Why did he feel the need to have a dig at fans who suggest playing 442 instead etc. is what I don't understand?

Yes I would, because maybe...Just maybe he knows a little more about football management than me, and also because I'm just not that delicate.

I went on holiday at the start of last season, he didn’t write to me. What a dick 😂

Wilder does know more about football than me I'm sure. However you don't need to be a 5* Chef to say that a dog-turd meal at a restaurant is awful.

The league table of 5 points from 19 games with 100 million pounds spent is what you might call an ultimate footballing dog-turd.

I'm not traumatised by his comments. Just believe them to be unnecessary, inappropriate and uncalled for.

I don’t listen to others clubs’ manager interviews but I’m pretty sure Wilder isn’t the first manager in recent times to call his fans out on talking bollocks.

I'm sure you're not too bothered at all, in spite of the dozens of posts that strongly indicate that you are.
And you've used that chef analogy at least three times now, it wasn't entirely relevant the first time.

That's because there were dozens of replies.

The chef analogy is relevant by the way.

It isn't, none of this is really and quite frankly, if I was in Wilder's position and had read any of your multiple threads about him, I'd probably draw similar conclusions to what he has, and I'd probably use a stronger term than 'nonsense'.

I'll leave you to howl at the moon about how Chris Wilder has bismerched your honour, for the sake of my own sanity and awareness of my limited time on earth.

I completely agree with Wilder tbh.

Too many fans think you can just change a formation if you're losing and its like casting a magic spell. Never mind the fact the players have been drilled and trained extensively to play a certain system or identity. Let's just change it on a Saturday and hope for the best.

If we go 4 at the back and three up front maybe Baldock will suddenly start crossing like Beckham.

Maybe Norwood won't gift spurs two goals by failing to control a football.

Maybe our players will start winning every header at set pieces.

Ramsdale is clearly under performing bevause there's 1 too many defenders in front of him. Go 4-3-3 and he saves everything.

The players are massively under performing this season and lacking in confidence. If we changed system they'd still play poorly and lack in confidence.

Wilders right. There is a lot of nonsense from playstation managers.

Recruitment though. Not gonna argue with anyone on that. It looks poor right now.

It's nothing to do with 'my honour', its to do with his comments which he made unprompted, which I believe are uncalled for, unnecessary, unkind and inappropriate as well as possibly being inaccurate.

Yeah, cool, whatever 👍🏻
