FAO Anyone who questions the shape and system we're playing: You're talking nonsense

If you think his comments are rude and disrespecful its a good job he doesnt say what hes probablty really thinking and tell all you to fuck off
Then you would really be offended and probably start crying

So you think he lacks class?

Pretty insulting that you would assume he would behave in such an unprofessional way.

You're not questioning Wilder's management though, you're pearl-clutching because he doesn't bow in deference to such criticism.

I'm not asking him to bow to deference.

I'm saying that his comments were unnecessary and uncalled for towards the fans who suggest we change the shape/system. He was not even asked about the issue but went out of his way to do that.

He could just say nothing, or that he respectfully disagrees with those who thinks differently.

No I dont thats why he hasnt said it, but he maybe thinking it
Wilder is a fan, not a fan that goes in executive boxes but a fan that used to stand on the terraces with his mates

I don't think he lacks that much class, but maybe you do.

Yeah, about that... (sadly)

But all is well because we beat League 1 Plymouth :D All because of the shape and system!
Bloody hell, are we bottom of the league?!

I assume that we wouldn’t be if we played 4-4-2 or 4-3-3?!

The players aren’t good enough to compete this season, I understand why the system isn’t changed as he’s been using it with success for 4 years. To just drop it and try something else is obviously considered to be a worse option by the management team who have been successful in the past.

You might want to sit down for this news....

You're not entitled to nice words from Chris Wilder or really anybody else to be honest. If he thinks the manner of criticism he's received is nonsense then that's too bad. He owes you and I nothing.

If you were to put this to a poll to find out how many people are offended by his press conference, I would bet with a fair degree of confidence that the overwhelming majority would be in the 'not at all/don't give a fuck' category.

Barely anybody cares.

It's not unreasonable to think we are doing something wrong this season and that we have been found out, and maybe a change would get us more than 5 points from 19 games.

But it's ok as the system worked well against AFC Wimbledon in league 1 it clearly means we should stick with it now :)

1. I'm not asking for nice words. I'm saying that he doesn't need to be disrespectful and sneer at fans who suggest we change the shape/system.
2. The majority are not always right, and why should I care what they think?

1. Your bar for what constitutes disrespect is comically low I have to say.

2. They don't have to be right, it's a subjective issue, but if you're the only one with the problem then it probably doesn't matter.
And you don't have to care what they think, just as Wilder doesn't have to care what we think.

It worked well against Chelsea and Spurs more recently, but if you want to knock then just refer back to league 1 instead.

I’m pretty sure you’ll be the first person they call when we need a new manager or some advice though.

He sneers at fans, he gets fucked off and mardy when we lose. He also does a kinsman on pitch with players and gets that shitfaced he nearly falls off the front of a bus. Then calls out Leeds scum on telly while smashing beer wi lads.

You can keep your plastic managers who wear waist coats and talk like politicians. I want a manager who represents my club, my city and if he upsets a few along then way who gives a fuck!!!

You think he thinks that fans who question the shape/system that they should 'fuck off'?

He maybe thinking it
At the end of the day hes done a lot more in his managerial career than any of our fans and most managers and was voted LMA Manager of the year by his peers then came second last season
He started off in the Sunday League in Sheffield and has worked his way up, I know players that played for him
Hes not a shrinking violet and he has the right to come out and defend himself from the criticism of the armchair managers who at the end of the day know a lot less than him. Hes lifted this club from the doldrums of L1 and took us to the PL in 4 seasons. That is a monumental achievement so I think he probably knows what hes talking about
Are you so green to think that managers up and down the country dont think when the fans are getting on their back fuck you I know more about managing a football team than most of you.

What I said was that Wilder need not be, and should not be disrespectful towards fans who pay for his wages out of courtesy and professionalism.

Is that unreasonable?

You are motivated by “courtesy”? REALLY?

Jesus.

I need to put you on ignore. I will get banned otherwise. You are a freakin’ disgrace.

Oh, and we won today. Through to the 5th round of the Cup. Presumably the fact that it was Plymouth will give you a reason for some petty, personal attack on anyone you fancy associated with the club?

🤮

Good night. And good luck.

I contribute to your old age pension, shall I come into your workplace and give you pointers?!

Wrong, you only get a full state pension if you make 35 years National Insurance Contributions

It doesn't matter how much you contribute it will only buy your own pension, nobody else's

Absolute bollocks. Do your NI contributions cover the entirety of your pension?! No, so where does the difference come from?! Nice try though, you nearly sounded like you knew what you were on about.

derekacorah You were the one who talked about 4 years ago. With that said Chelsea, Spurs was what... 7 months ago? That's a long time in footballing terms.

Honestly, wish they had everything in all hand but they clearly don't :(

Do we really need the manager to sneer at the fans? It's just unnecessary imho. And since Leicester away last season when he ripped into the players our form collapsed spectacularly so perhaps his approach is not always the best for SUFC.

Pedro Verde Saying 'they are talking nonsense' isn't defending himself, it's a dig at people backed up with no evidence. If he did a Bielsa style press conference with stats etc. then fair enough.

He's done very well in the past with us, but can't live off that forever like Ranieri couldn't when he had to leave Leicester and Clough when he left Forest. There is no doubt, as I have said many times before that he is a club legend as long as he doesn't take us to League 2.

ShockingBadBuy Shocking bad post! The thread was posted before the match not after. Delighted that we squeezed past League 1 Plymouth with a full strength team with our £18 million goalkeeper putting in another stellar performance. I maintain that calling fans who merely suggest that we change the shape/system after 5 points from 19 games as talking 'nonsense' was unnecessary.

I can't remember any manager in football ever saying anything like that, and invite you to prove me wrong.

We all get that you think you’re some kind of football manager in waiting. Occasionally you make a point that I agree with. But for the most part you’re on a mission to try and make yourself sound like you know more than Wilder and sorry to say, I don’t think you have the credentials.

You’re welcome to your opinion, but it’s not always right. Wilder won’t get everything right either, but he’s not going to change the system based on the opinions of a few blokes who have played a computer game too much in their lives.

Those that keep banging on about what he’s doing wrong probably deserves a bit of “shut the fuck up”, which is what it got from Wilder.

I bet if you saw him in the street you’d not start digging him out on it, if you’re that bothered and have the bollocks, email him or something, Jurgen Klopp responds personally to 7 year old Man U fans so you never know, Wilder might read what you send him and take note if he thinks you’ve got a point.

You're right I don't have the credentials. However you don't need to have credentials as a 5* Chef to say that a dog-turd meal in a restaurant is not good. This is a forum as you know where we all offer opinions, no mission from me. I know this will sound trite but I really wish everything was running smoothly :( and that no-one had grounds to go on about what is going wrong after every loss.

And I agree that Wilder will never change the system no-matter what this season, if he hasn't after 5 points from 19 games he never will.

If I saw him in the street I would avoid because of COVID , but still would not bother a professional and he has a right to a personal life though know not all are the same and it wouldn't make me a coward for not doing so. If he asked for my opinion, which would never happen, I would offer it as I assume anyone would.

I dont why some supporters get all precious about a managers press conference, he can hardly come out and say what hes really thinking can he otherwise it would be a very short interview
If he wants to call nonsense on any comment he has a right to call it if hes been asked a question
His opinion and I suggest you like it or lump it and stop crying about it
You also seem to have a Ranieri fettish thats unhealthy. Cough retired he was hitting the bottle too much
I was there at the City Ground that day we gave him a fitting reception at his last game
You cry about Wilders press conference I would suggest you try listening to some of Cloughs you would be inconsolable some of the stuff he came out with

Did Clough ever rip on the supporters calling them computer managers and that they talk nonsense? If he did I put my hands up.

He wasn't asked about this issue, he went out of his way to sneer, which I believe was uncalled for, was unnecessary, unprofessional and inappropriate which is why you don't see other managers doing that.

In Cloughs era there were no computer managers. Im sure if there had been he would have told them exactly what he thought and wouldnt have been as polite as Wilder. Clough told plenty of people they were talking nonsense / bollocks and he didnt care who they were. Clough was always right everybody else was wrong
You strike me as one of the snowflake generation that looks to be offended at every opportunity

Edit - I was going to mention Clough smacking a fan but thought you would know about that
Seems to me you dont know a lot about Clough

Actually Championship manager was released in 1992, and Clough was manager until 1993 ;)

And Football Manager was around during the 1980's on computers: Football Manager (1982 series) - Wikipedia

Clough was a great manager but doesn't mean he was always right.

Going back to derekacorah on second thoughts if I saw Wilder in the street and had the time to say one comment it would be 'Thank you for getting our club back on track and out of League 1.'
