Danny Rohl

Agreed. I think we've tried the inexperienced 'foreign'/continental manager and sacking Selles would be an admission that it hasn't worked. Surely if we're making a change it's because that style of coach doesn't work with this squad/club infrastructure. Therefore we need a different type of manager/coach.

To make that same mistake would be akin to keep picking Peck in centre mid on his own every week.....
Alternatively, we remodel the squad/club infrastructure so that it will work, as it does for other clubs. Makes more sense than simply saying it’s something we can never do because we are parochial, backward looking little Sheffield United. It would take time and patience, though.

Rohl certainly isn’t the man.

Beyond the fact that some posters on here have a weird inferiority complex with the Wendys and feel the need to constantly spam the rumour mill section with their terrible players (and now their old manager)... I'm not sure what Danny Rohl has done to get any of our fans excited?

He might well prove to be a good manager one day, but I previously thought that about Rueben Selles, and now it feels like he's on a one man mission to see how fast he can get a promotion-favourite relegated.

I think that Mark Robin's would do a great job.

Success with Coventry (play-offs and Cup runs) with limited funds and also has loads of experience in and around the top end of the Championship.

Good at recruiting and developing young talent (whilst mostly having to sell on to balance the books)
We're not going to get mark robins in my opinion. One because he won't likely be the boards choice anyway and two because he's not long since been in a new job. I doubt Stoke would allow us to speak to him.

Dyche probably more attainable than Robins.

Dyche will sit out and wait for better

Considering the pigs having a better start than I predicted perhaps the assistant was the driving force behind the two anyway?

And even last year they weren't anything particularly exciting

I've seen a few say this. They've got one point and they've just stuck ten players behind the ball and kept it tight, something Selles can't do out of possession but I don't think it indicates that Pederson is the brains behind Rohl.

Considering the shite hand he has to be dealt with to keep them somewhere in games is pretty good going tbf

He will but still more chance of him than Robins, partly because I can't see these owners going for him anyway.

Oh yeh, totally see your reasoning

I did suggest Robbins myself based on he might have enjoyed or still lives this way and chance to work with Hamer and COH again but that not be likely after today

Hmmm
I fear I’ve identified a fundamental (& fatal?) flaw in your (undoubtedly) logical proposition:-

“ It would take time and patience

Given the owners are chucking all the pieces up in the air and hoping they land in some kind of shape may as well chuck Rohl into the mix.
Monkey typing Shakespeare territory at the moment.

theyve made a terrible start its only our own horrendous start that makes their results look acceptable plus theyve still got the points deduction to come at least weve got the players to rescue the situation providing we act quick and sack selles their doomed to div 1 and most of their fans have accepted it even bannan apparently.shot straight down the tunnel after saturdays defeat think hes realised hes made a big mistake staying there mind rumours on pigtalk that he could go today for 500k if he goes theyve had it

It is but it's a bit far to say that Pederson must be the better if the two. Only when Rohl takes his next job presumably without Pederson will that be known.
