There's a lot of excitement at the moment, with various people posting suggestive rumours, promising deals are done and all the usual frustration from fans that come with it. As a quiet summer has progressed I think it's more important than ever that more fans are aware of just how the transfer rumour economy actually works and who benefits from it.
This video is from the always excellent Adam Clery, if you don't already I strongly suggest you subscribe for his tactical content, but this video is specifically about his frustration about the Isak transfer and how the system works. It's well worth every fan taking 15 minutes out of their day to watch it.
Please bear this in mind the next time you consume content from Jimmy Bumble, or one of the faceless X accounts, or comments from an ex (or current) blades employee, or tame journalists from local rags (danny hall et al).
Another example of how this process works is below;
Take that instagram clip, replace 'tonali' with 'Souttar' and 'Tottenham' with 'Sheffield United'
I don't really know what the point of this post is, I just think more people need to be aware of how it works because when these transfers don't come off the knives come out and blame game starts.
