He was everything Billy isn't anymore, gave Preston's defenders a hard time and changed the game, well done Jebbo.

When Jebbison came on Preston had changed there system and went much more open as they had to win which worked in Jebbison’s favourHe was everything Billy isn't anymore, gave Preston's defenders a hard time and changed the game, well done Jebbo.
Why ?If I was an opposition central defender and saw Jebbo coming on, my very first thought would be " oh shit ! "
He has all the makings of a big player for us.Early days yet but I think he has potential.
Something I didn’t say about Calvert Lewin so what do I know![]()

TBH.If I was an opposition central defender and saw Jebbo coming on, my very first thought would be " oh shit ! "
He certainly looked the part against P.n.e. strong, quick and the way he flattened the defender and went on to create the goal, very impressive.TBH.
When i see him in the starting lineup, i think "oh shit". But he was fantastic the other day.
Hopefully he can grow over the summer and you never know, he may be the 10-15 goal PL striker we need![]()
1.) He has to sign a new deal in order to get game time or loaned out. He's 19, there's no rush.Seen lots of people suggest Jebbison go on loan. It's not going to happen for 3 main reasons:
1: He's out of contract at the end of next season.
2: We'll likely struggle to afford a player with his qualities to fill his place in the squad.
3: There's nothing in it for him.
Point 3 is the most important; why would he want to go on loan from us? Since he made his debut, there's been reported interest from top clubs, that could pay him a great deal more than we can. If he's just going to be an U21 player who gets farmed out on loan, he may as well agitate for a move, and go on loan from Manchester United or the like.
Our USP to Jebbison, and the reason he hasn't left, is that we can offer him game time. Take that out the equation and I would guess we're a very unattractive option for him.
Agreed also detrimental to his development to remain a bit partGet him loaned out to championship team to get experience. Not good enough for PL. doesn’t make the bench. No room for passengers where we are going.
Premier League might just be what he needs a pacy impact player for last 20 minute sub and from there he will progressGet him loaned out to championship team to get experience. Not good enough for PL. doesn’t make the bench. No room for passengers where we are going.
At the risk of being labelled as facetious - Jebbison will be 20 years old in August2.) I guess we'd have to see, but it would be worrying if we're reliant on a 19 year old to fill out the squad. We can always bring him back in Jan if he's slaying it and is needed.
I’m not advocating him going on loan, just answering the question as to why it’s a worthy discussion point. If he’s first choice from the bench then of course he should stay, but he needs to sign a new deal too.At the risk of being labelled as facetious - Jebbison will be 20 years old in August
More than half of the 20 PL clubs had a 20yo (or younger) starting 10 times or more
Jebbison isn’t exactly a kid, especially these days, i don’t think there’s any harm in him being a solid squad player this season - look at Brennan Johnson at Forest for an example of the role he could play
Imagine how much we’d kick ourselves if he did slay the championship - and we were languishing in the bottom 3!
Jebbos going to be a better player than him with prem experience next season.Boro supporting mate of mine suggested we go for Che Adams. I said I'd rather develop Jebbison than spending £££ on a player who's goals:game ratio at Soton is 1:5.

He must be shit thenWhy ?
He’s won two fucking headers since that Everton game

3.) There's everything in it for him. He'll play more, he'll develop, he'll be proving himself at a desirable level, it'll increase his profile, he'll come back as the main forward if he bags more than 15 goals.

Maybe, but I'm not assuming he'll sign just because United make an offer, I just think were potentially more attractive than you have us.I think you're understandably looking at the situation through the eyes of a united fan.
If we try and strong-arm him into signing a new deal by threatening to withhold game time, I imagine he'd call the bluff and leave for free at the end of the year. He's a talented, sought after young player, with a year left - he holds all the cards.
I think if you were him, or a parent/advisor to him, you'd tell him to sign a new contract if there's hope of reasonable game time, and leave if not.
And as for your comment about being reliant on him: I'm not sure "reliant" is the right word, but yes, I'd expect him to play a leading role next season.
We'll have a paltry budget, we'll need several midfielders, a couple of defenders, possibly a keeper and a replacement for Sharp. If there's change left after all that to fund a Jebbison upgrade, I will be astonished.
My thoughts exactly, not to send him out on loan, play him,the way he handled P.N.E. defence,I know they weren't that good but he certainly rattled 'em.I can see Jebbo becoming our main man next season, young, pacey and hungry forrrit. Let's hope he stays injury free for the next two games.
UTB
If you believe some folk on here the only reason he managed to do that was because Bill had run the PNE defence ragged prior and they were very tired. My thoughts exactly, not to send him out on loan, play him,the way he handled P.N.E. defence,I know they weren't that good but he certainly rattled 'em.
