No doubt the tribunal panel will be made up of 100% pig fans and we'll break the world transfer record.

I would imagine that if he is 24 in 2 months and therefore able to sign without any fee involved at that stage, that the pigs wouldnt be able to claim much should he sign for us and it go to tribunal. I think Utd would possibly give them a small nominal fee to free him up early and if the pigs are worth anything then they would agree to that on behalf of their ex player. If they play hard ball then Utd will simply sit tight for 2 months. All parties know the situation and im sure the pigs would rather have a bit now than nowt in 2 months time. Provided common sense prevails i see no reason why a deal cant be struck now.

We're talking Pigs, here.

Common sense prevails?

If he's no longer with Wednesday then who's he been training with?

Tick Tock Tick Tock Tick Tock.......
Waiting 2 months is a stupid idea, reason being, there will probably be another thread in a week or so "Gone to...................." we aren't lucky enough to risk losing out are we!!?? Get it on the table Chris, don't turn into Shatkins!!!

If he would be available for free in two months then I think we can absolutely forget signing him before then (or realistically, at all). This is United we're talking about.

Surely tribunal is only required if he is STILL contracted to Wednesday? If he's a free agent surely that means he has parted company at the end of his contract by mutual consent?!?

So, is he still a Pig?

Any player under the age of 24 who is offered equal or better terms and turns it down is still attached to a club in terms of 'development fee'. As far as i'm aware even if he turns 24 they would still be due compensation because he was offered terms prior to this.

He rejected a contract, so regardless of him being a free agent, Wednesday are still due compensation unfortunately

Correct. If they hadn't offered him a contract or offered one on lower terms he can leave and no fee is due. Because they offered him a new contract (presumably on the same terms) and he rejected it, they are due compensation when he next signs for someone. If the clubs can't agree a figure it goes to tribunal.

Sheff U. Grant thing right. Want midfielder too. Couple short listed. And a very controversial move for a striker

He'll mean Lavery and I want us to sign him but..... if only he was referring to someone else.

The annoying thing is that Wednesday will probably hold us to ransom in regards to the tribunal etc, but boot on the other foot we would do the same obviously.

The reason it is so annoying however is that they don't even want the player and have no plans for him going forward, instead he will be offered back on loan at the nearest convenience anyway.

In his time at Wednesday, Lavery played 39 times in all competitions since, scoring six goals.

A serious knee injury restricted Lavery to just 14 outings during the 2014/15 campaign
.
Hmmmmmm another coming back from an injury.

Just goes to show the state of SUFC when fans are jizzing in their skivvies over a player not good enough to hold down a place at S6, maybe he found his level at Pompey as did McNulty ................ kin hell if you didn't laugh you'd weep.
you do remember that the team from S6 finished 6th in the Championship last season - and we..............didn't?

Yeah it's sad but it's the current state we find ourselves in. McGugan is currently surplus to requirements for them, doesn't change the fact I'd have him here in a heartbeat!

If you are serious about bringing in a top striker weaken a rival, Rovers Matty Taylor who tore up League Two.

Yes whilst Lavatory was alongside McNulty at Portsmouth, also he had loan spells at Plymouth and Southend in league two, oh and he had about half a dozen games in League one for Chessy not scoring many goals for any of them. Is he League one standard? Is he what we need? Easy to please some of our fans eh. Oh and he seems to like rejecting new contracts too, one to be very wary of ..........

That was 2 seasons ago. Not good enough to get in their squad last or this season. Loaned to Portsmouth last year. Played around 15 games.
