opinions thats what makes football great & we all be on different sides PeterNdlovu081 espoo blade jt64

for me phillips hasnt gone for 50/50 ball. as phillips proves he passed the way before ingelsson gets close. it think it was outcome of sheer desperation from him

what is the outcome going to be when any player is 2nd to the ball & that late

The responsibility is on Phillips.

He chose to put his foot into the challenge like that when there was zero need for it.

Why would you ever raise your foot and go into it studs first at that height?

We were 2-0 up and cruising, it makes no sense.

And this is from a player who has played at a much higher level than anyone else on the pitch who should know better.

It's a red card all day long as most people have agreed with.

Completely unnecessary to put your foot into a challenge like that and invite the referee to send you off.

Braindead decision making from Phillips.
Phillips did the same foot up thing in the first half and caught their player, but their player had his body closer to the ground so he got away with it.

I'm not going to pretend to be satisfied with that

From an incredibly rare opportunity we took only the bare minimum in the circumstances

Phillips can go fuck himself

Wilder wasn't much better. His changes castrated us and we end up wasting time in the corner

Wednesday will be absolutely delighted with that and understandably so
It went nervy for a big part of 2nd half.
But it wasn't a red. How you come to the those conclusions god only knows. However was was very good.
I agree pigs will get some solace from the result, but it's a derby. We all wanted 5-0 but also we aren't kids.

If I ever declare myself ‘absolutely delighted’ with losing to Wednesday and being relegated in the process, you have my permission to book me into the Deludamol Asylum.

There was no challenge, the ball was his to hit how he wanted. Piggy went in after and put his legs into an existing situation. That isn't Philips to predict or pull out of.

Agree it wasn’t a 50/50 but the replay from the ref’s angle looked like the follow through was a bit of a stamp at the end. Couldn’t see that on any of the other angles, mind.

Philips is barely a yellow thought it at the time. even better on the replay ingelsson goes for a ball he knows he was always going to be 2nd for. it wasnt even a 50/50. phillips cleared that ball way before ingelsson on the scene

if anything phillips catches him because ingelsson was so late

referee changed the momentum of the match. with that poor decision & surprising considering all the dirty tricks they were deploying
Sorry but it was a red all day. He rode over the ball and followed through. Very nasty challenge - deliberate, dangerous and, frankly, pathetic for an International to get involved in pub football antics.

Bad take. That was 100% a red card and a very stupid thing for an experienced player to do. He instantly knew he was going off.

He wanted to leave something on the Wendy player, whether that was a personal vendetta or to get a pat on the back from the fans. Stupid thing to do at a time when we need consistency in the middle of the pitch. Now we’re stuck with Arblaster and Peck for the next match.

Give over.

Phillips didn't have the ball in his control.

He knew exactly what he was doing and he instantly knew he'd fucked up as soon as he did it.

Lovely day out with the family, beat the pigs and send them down something I’d never have thought I’d witness. Was a tad disappointed we didn’t go for the jugular in the first half and get a big scoreline but I’ve snapped out of that now. Great day Blades 🙌

No, the ball was loose for either player to go for. Philips did and was there first by some margin.
He didn't and said so. Watch the highlights

I've seen it many times.

Whether you want to call it a challenge or not, Lucky1979 was right when he said he wanted to leave his foot on him.

Immediately after it happened the Wednesday player came over and shoved Phillips quite forcefully in the back.

He didn't even react because he knew he was a goner.

They were the worst team at BDTBL in years…they’d struggle in L1.
Other than the impetus Phillips red card gave them I was watching thinking they were no goal threat whatsoever on another day with how we played that should have been at least 5-1 .
Without a total squad makeover they're going to be lucky not to go straight through to league 2 with that squad.

I thought we were the better team even when it was 10 vs 11. The pigs had a ten minute spell after the sending off, but other than that we looked pretty comfortable and still created chances on the break. Credit to Wilder for his game management. His subs definitely swung the game back our way, Hoever shoring up the right side and Campbell running the channels to give us an out ball.

Well, if the Wednesday player shoved him afterwards that proves it.

You having a laugh?
Ffs we've just created a bit of footballing history. And you're not satisfied?
Go away, give your head a wobble. Remember you're a Blade, come back and apologise.

For 15 minutes or so we didn't play like we had 10 men at home to absolutely wank opposition

We played like we had 9 men away against decent opposition
And that 15 minutes left you 'unsatisfied' did it? You precious little thing. Derby games are often a bit of a lottery where form goes out the window. Grow a pair.

If I remember correctly, I believe the Leeds “view from” mentioned his tendency to do this sort of thing.

Nah no way he wanted to leave his foot in to hurt him

I think he knew he bolloxed the initial challenge and got it wrong and due to that he followed through and that’s what he knew he had fucked up on but no way was he intentionally leaving one on him
