Thanks for putting in another shift Roy and Beans. That’s it in a nutshel. Confidence sapping.

Evening all, new pod from myself and Roygbiv here where we're both more than a little baffled and frustrated by United's apparent willingness to settle for a point at Bristol City, but at least there's some positives this time in an improved performance and the return of Chris Basham (howler apart) and a few others.

We also preview a must-win (probably? Who knows any more) game with Cardiff this weekend. COYRAWW!

Thanks for listening, as always.

Apologies to anyone hanging on for our post-Cardiff pod - I'm going to have to postpone it until after the QPR game due to some personal stuff on my part. I don't want to put out a shitty episode (cue jokes) or waste Roygbiv's time (and by extension, yours). Thanks for your understanding, should be much easier to get one done over the weekend / early next week.

Evening all, thanks for your patience between episodes - pleased to be able to rejoin Roygbiv and discuss a highly-impressive turnaround at QPR that keeps our playoff destiny in our own hands. We also talk about Billy's contract, Billy's injury, Hecky being a big fat liar in his press conferences, Ndiaye's poaching instincts, the takeover news from earlier in the week, and every possible permutation of the final day of the season.

Thanks very much for listening, as always I really appreciate it!

Afternoon all! Well, the season ain't over, so it was my great pleasure to record this one with Roygbiv and reflect on a quite outstanding showing from United and a brilliant day all round. Same again next Saturday?

Thanks for listening, and UTB!

That’s my drive to footy tonight sorted, thanks Beans ⚔️

Great listen as always. Marinakis is the florist owner. He’s also owner of Olympiakos, several ships and a tv channel. He’s a very well known character here. ALLEGEDLY involved in some naughty stuff. Was implicated in a match fixing scandal.

As an aside, there’s a good mention for your pal and ex-podcaster Jay on the NTT20 pod today. Good analysis of our chances v Forest on the NTT20 pod as well.

Will listen to yours tonight 👍🏼

Saving it for bedtime tonight. I don’t think we have anything to fear from any of the other three teams. Bring it on!
Cheers lads. I slept well last night. So well I had to listen to the last 20 minutes again this morning. 😂
Like Roy, I think this season has managed our expectation very well, and we have nothing to lose. If we do win and get promoted, I fear the squad will be too fragile for the EPL, and the Prince will use the money to keep us solvent. He learned a lesson by allowing Wider the freedom to splash the cash.

As I said earlier, we have nothing to fear in this group and we are the form side. All long term Blades fans have been here before and the team never fail to disappoint.
If Hecky has learned enough on the tactical side, this year might just be different. That’s quite scary.

The bit about Garyoke and JOC - I think he was thanking the kop for singing JOC's magic hat song in the first half and said it'd mean a lot to him, not suggesting anything more.

Great listen as always, thanks.

Afternoon all - Roygbiv was unfortunately unable to record today so here's a quick solo pod from me giving a few reasons to be cheerful and reasons to be fearful ahead of the second leg. We'll talk Didzy and the new contracts for Basham, Robinson etc after the second leg when Royston is hopefully back and we have a bit less time pressure, but I wanted to get an episode out there asap given the impending next game. Cheers for listening.

Thanks for the pod. I am at a loss to understand this result, especially as I predicted us taking a solid lead to the second leg.
I am a little disappointed by your assessment of our chances based on your hope that Forest would have to implode for us to win!

The only chance is if the Blades play to their full potential, no matter how good or bad Forest are. The United performance was lacklustre to say the least, but everything happens for a reason. We are still in it thanks to a late goal.

If United perform as we know they can do, we can still win this. Apologies for my optimism. That game could be just the incentive we need to wake up to a win!

Nice work Ben. Well balanced. Good example of Leeds.

Hopefully they step into an environment of complacency and we can take advantage.

Also interesting in that Leeds example that Derby went behind so even then all was not lost.

I think counterattacking away really suited them. It will be a different game. Hopefully we can exploit our apparent superiority at set plays.

Was Roy on a two day hangover?

On Saturday night I bumped into him very late on in some awful nightclub in Sheffield.

Any plans to do any classic matches revisited again? Thinking ahead to the summer, I’ll miss the podcast. Would be good if you had time to do some.

Yeah I'd definitely like to, they're really enjoyable to research and look back on - even the ones that are a bit more infamous eg the 5-5 with Swindon. We'll have a look at doing some over the summer for sure.

Can’t wait! Really enjoy these.

Evening S2, apologies for the delay for everyone who was waiting for this. Anyway, finally, Roygbiv and I were both able to get on either end of a Skype call at the same time, and record our playoff second leg reaction podcast, aka not your typical Blades playoff failure.

In the second half of the podcast we pick out our favourite David McGoldrick moments from his Blades career, in tribute to one of our favourite-ever players. Thank you as always for listening!
