We’d get to be called Wayne Rooney’s Sheffield United.
And every time I’d hear it I’d die a little more inside…..
Don't you mean Wayne Rooney's Sheffield?

Agree with all the above. For me personally, I can want Hecky to stay and turn things around, and still be concerned that he appears to be losing the plot right now. He doesn't stay in the job by default, he needs to get the team up for the fight again, and fast.
I agree with much of this, but if we are in the same predicament by January, I can't see any new players coming in. What's more, a number of players have contracts up at the end of the season and Archer is likely to be back at Villa (if we are relegated). I like Hecky and what he did to get us promoted and he was dealt a blow with the last minute sales of Illy and Berge, the last two performances v West Ham and Fulham have really worried me.Us fans understand it's a hard season. Particularly when Iliman left, it went from hopeful to "oh shit".
I think I'd give Hecky until December. If we're still really frustratingly "off it", maybe then appoint an upcoming manager that will want to get promoted from the Championship and have the pedigree to do so - then sign some very good Championship players in the January window (that the new manager agrees to).
Note: Even this feels harsh on Hecky, I'd like him to move upstairs not be sacked.
The majority of managers changes don't work. Very low probability of a manager change helping (no idea how to provide any evidence or stats for this!). Appointing Hecky really did work - a lot of thought needs to go into the decision before dispensing of him.
Weirdly it always seemed to be Wayne Rooney's Derby County when he was there, and DCFC are one of those teams who rarely get full-named (I assume because there's no one else to confuse them with).Don't you mean Wayne Rooney's Sheffield?
Hope so can't stand fuckin Brum City think there summit that lot, everyone of em to a man needs a slap.Think it will soon be be Wayne Rooney's Birmingham City.....

Me too. He's fucking wank.If Dean Smith rocks up here I’m done.
Tried parking the bus, didn’t work. As said,I have much respect for hecky but we are making decent players look like league 1 standard,Anel,Egan,Hamer,Norwood,Archer,Bogle etc. It’s the managers job to get the best out of the players and it’s not happening. We are throwing the towel in as soon as we are behind, zero confidence and only a matter of time before the opposition scores. A heavy heart in me since the season started with what’s happened.I'm not sure what else he can try, except park the bus for 90mins(+20 injury time)...?
We don't even have the players for 442.
well that suggests this set of players are not busting a gut for hecky theres something not quite right at the laneTried parking the bus, didn’t work. Maybe ? Can’t adapt to the style of play? Something isn’t right because we are not competitive and that is not sheffield United. I miss being called bully boy, shithousing bastards but with some good players.well that suggests this set of players are not busting a gut for hecky theres something not quite right at the lane
This proper tickled meWould rather have Delia Smiths than have Dean Smith as manager.
Who did we sell last time we were relegated? There was hardly a fire sale then largely because every single player, other than Didsy, were woeful. Premier League teams didn't want them. Championship teams didn't want them. Bizarrely we somehow made profit on Ramsdale, which was almost as comical as his dives for the ball. With the way our players are playing currently we won't receive any interest for any of them when (not if) we go down.Interested to know why people think if we get relegated we will keep our squad together and be strong? If we go down any last decent player will be sold and we are left with Wilders Lge 1 remnants and no money. If any good Hamer, Archer et al will be long gone. Fleck and Norwood in midfield.
Other than the 24 million plus record sale we sold hardly anyone... hopefully he is on the move again next summer and we get a little bit more from a sell on to rebuild with....Who did we sell last time we were relegated? If by “the same predicament” you mean 3 points off 17th place I can certainly see new players arriving in January.I agree with much of this, but if we are in the same predicament by January, I can't see any new players coming in.
Ditto, except Brewster for Oli MacSurely Bash's injury will force the change of tactics that many are clamouring for? And along with said change, we might see something, tactically, new from Hecky. Could be the silver lining to the darkest cloud.

And then make a bench from whoever's the least fucked....
like that back 4 and the diamond for home games but away we have to go 451 weve got to start picking up a few draws on our travelsSurely Bash's injury will force the change of tactics that many are clamouring for? The board gave Hecky a 5 year contract 2 years ago. That's all we know. Everything else is speculation.Do we think board have decided to give hecky bit longer?
Or is it that they want to line up someone first before doing the business?
They are holding on they dont want Hecky walking out of S2 and strainght into S6.Do we think board have decided to give hecky bit longer?
