2 games to save his job

We tried to attack on Sunday. Pushed a CM much further forward. Newcastle had 10 shots in the last 15 minutes of the 1st half.

A squad lacking quality or the players to sustain attacks is going to get shown up if it tries to play on an equal footing. Shutting up shop against the teams owned by billionaires and countries is the only way to have a prayer of keeping it close

There is, of course, a Third Way.

I'm not sure you can compare a Spurs team at the end of a cycle, that didn't even attempt to press and whom sacked their manager the following week with that team of giant athletes we saw on Sunday.

Watch it back. Spurs stood and watched

Another couple of heavy defeats and the inevitable will happen.

How can anyone turn there nose up at wilder

There isn’t a manager out there who is more suited and more qualified for the job

Not one
Bloke left us in the shit after spending the best part of 120m plus. He flirted with several clubs whilst at his “dream job”.. weirdly happy to stay once he got a pay rise. Blamed any and everyone for his mistakes in the market, blamed any and everyone else for his tactics failing and being found out. Refused to play youth players over absolute cumstains like lunwank.

Blokes a busted flush who I want nowhere near this club. You’re coming across like the WUM who posts about smith over on porktalk.. not the same person are you?

Things that have to change:
1. Stop conceding the first goal - 5/6 we've gone behind. Yes the Spurs one we collapsed in stupid time.
2. Stop conceding goals from crosses - 9 goals from crosses into our box - nine! 6 more than any other team after 6 games!!

Do I think Hecky and our defensive coach will sort this - I am not sure. So if this keeps going there is an "embarassment" factor which the board will not tolerate. I think Hecky is good for Championship but is being woefully found out at present in PL.
And 3. Stop the hoof especially if McBurnie isn’t playing. Hamer and McAtee can’t get on the ball if it is going over their heads. Not sure Hecky is helping himself by falling back on this tactic.

You must have forgot the bit where he took us over in bottom half league one and the last game we had fans in the ground we were on course for Europe

I find it baffling how you can have that view

He didn’t leave us in the shit did he as he literally appointed hecky for the purpose of him taking over to get us back up 🤣

Nah. I’ve just not forgotten how he left. Check the previous comments I’ve made. Love him for the memories, think he’s a full weight for how he left.

He ranted and angled himself for the bullet (rather than walking and accepting he’d gone as far as he could)

That’s also the stupidest thing I’ve ever read. “Purpose of him taking over to get us back up” 😂😂😂😂 what are you on about? 😂

Bloke acted like a petulant child to get a pay off, he’s realised the grass ain’t greener elsewhere and suddenly wants to come back. Hopefully we tell him to get in the bin.

I've never liked the dingle but I wouldn't entertain Wilder without Knill.
Also, why replace a manager who's spunked away this season's transfer money with a manager who spunked away a previous season's transfer money!!??? :tumbleweed:;):D

He's had his hands tied, it's not been a fair crack of the whip for him and I feel he hasn't been backed well enough transfer wise either,.

However we have not as yet put in any fully convincing performances where you'd say we controlled that game.
But we have looked threatening when we have attacked at times. Even yesterday first 20 I thought we looked decent.

I think had we lost to Newcastle even 3-0 the mindset would be different at a fan level and boardroom, but 8-0 changes the picture.
It accelerates the pressure to change it.

I'm not one for wanting to change at least not yet but you could argue that from the boardroom they may be looking at that the way we dropped points vs. Forest and Spurs could have been avoided with some different subs/or gameplan when at either 1-1 or 0-1.
And yesterday at 3-0 down at halftime, was that the wise sub and change in formation? It appeared to leave us more suspect and the players heads dropped.
What subs we had nowt on the bench ( Trusty still an unknown)

If it is the case that we are looking for a new gaffer which I don’t agree with btw.
I don’t think we can look for anyone better than Hassenhuttl played a back 3/5 at times with Southampton and is the only option imo other than Hecky that could do well with the players we have.
He’s also got experience of 0-9 home losses and dealt with it positively

Considering the only comment someone had on the game in the pub yesterday was "that number 20 didn't look like a professional footballer" and that the only way we were going to ever threaten Newcastle in the absence of any height to hoofball to was with pace, Traore for Bogle was fine for me
Bogle had to come off but all the players heads had gone and he puts a fucking striker on when we needed to tighten up - not fucking open up and get some stability
Instead we hoof to a 5ft 6 striker
Between him and his assistants they got that completely wrong

If Bogle had to come off then Davies or Basham should have come on to allow us to play 5-4-1 or 4-5-1. Numbers behind the ball is the only time we've looked even remotely competent this season. Two small lads up front with our ball retention is suicide.

I'm never going to criticise a manager in bringing on additional firepower when we needed (checks notes) three goals to get anything out of the game. The execution in how you play to do so? Open season on that one. But "needed to tighten up"? For fuck's sake. If we had done something like Basham for McAtee at half time instead I would treat that as tantamount to trying to defend a three goal deficit, giving up on the game and not waited for the fourth to go in before leaving for the pub.

Alan knill was at the lane a few games ago and it wasn't to see how Adam Davies sat on the bench

I would stick with Hecky and see how the next 6 to 8 games go. I can see us losing the next 4 games quite easily and a new manager won't make a difference. It's the games from 5 upwards where the team has to improve. If there's no improvement then a change of management will happen - the board might not even wait that long though.

If we are bottom at Christmas then we must not spend money in January and instead plan for the Champ next season. A few loans to go back along with Archer should see us financially comfortable for a couple of seasons.

A new owner would make all of my points above, well... pointless :D

But also: we can make 5 subs. Trusty was on the bench. 2 of our CBs were absolute dogshit. How does Trusty not get any minutes at all in this scenario? Unless he has an injury we're not being told about and was just sat there to make up the numbers.

We get told all last season about how promotion is paramount to the fortunes of the football club. We get promoted having been under a transfer embargo and difficulties behind the scenes. Target 1 achieved.

Target 2 is to stay in the premier league. You would have thought given the owner wants to sell the club that a premier league team is far more attractive to potential buyers than a side back in the championship. We reach the promise land and the think tank involved with running this football club believes that spending about £15m on development players is the recipe to survival. Does anybody seriously think that even if we had kept Ndiaye and Berge that the transfer policy we were adopting was ever going to keep us up.

The people involved in running this football club do not have a scooby do what they are doing. Case in point, left back, an area that needed improving on from last season given long term injury to RND. The think tank think Larouci is the answer. Now i appreciate we have since had to deal with multiple injuries at the position, but because the initial cover we signed is nowhere near good enough, we have then had to waste a domestic loan spot on a replacement. A replacement who would have more than likely been available at the time we signed Larouci. The use of this domestic loan spot has then prevented us getting in a much needed striker imo on deadline day. It's totally haphazard in the way they have approached things. We are one injury to either Mcburnie or Archer away from an absolute disaster of a season. Another case in point, the think tank tell us about how we now have saleable assets and we have looked after the future of the football club. As i've said on another thread, our strikeforce for a promotion campaign next year will more than likely be Brewster, Traore and Osula.

This same think tank now believe we need a managerial change. We can talk about managerial changes and replacements all we like, but while ever the clowns running the football club are still in place, nothing will change.

He was sat directly behind the bench.

I doubt you sit someone there who's here to look over the squad for the purpose of potentially replacing the current staff.
