Getting those two match sharp will be like slicing butter with a machete that's on fire compared to getting Tom Davies fit 🤣
To be fair we signed Tom Davies with an injury record so cannot put that down to Hecky.

For all the talk of players we maybe didn’t get, easy to forget one or two we haven’t really counted on yet.

I mean, you can’t do much about the standard of opposition, though there is no reason a team like Watford should be so weak, they’re hardly a low-resourced club and have plenty of recent PL years behind them.

Slamming in 4 goals in 2 U21 games shows that Campbell is motivated to make the most of the move. Likewise I thought Shackleton had an encouraging cameo on Saturday.

Should surely be brought on before Brewster

I think him and RB are probably joint second choice until his fitness is up to speed.

RB currently has more minutes in him preseason and as a sub, so I’d imagine his role this season is to continue getting minutes and keeping fit, which is to be expected following the extent of his injuries.

We need TC to be fit and pushing Moore after the break. We can't afford to be having him in the same situation as Brewster, we need another striker to help Moore or play instead as he can't play every game 90 minutes.

Campbell can and should play up top. Different sort of player to Moore, probably similar to Callum Robinson. Perhaps a two striker formation would suit both Moore and Campbell best.

I hope not, because Callum Robinson looked genuinely lost when asked to play as a centre forward.

This may be wrong but I wonder whether we see Campbell as the direct option on the RW with Brooks and Rak-Sakyi as the technical, dribbling options.

I think TC will play the left forward position more than the right forward slot.

We are going one striker in Moore plus O'Hare - imo Campbell should be the cover for Moore - and possibly also for O'Hare - hopefully Campbell will get ahead of Brewster as the first sub , given that he looks a natural finisher with either foot and has just put 4 in.
We have 2 good wingers in Brooks & JRS and Campbell could cover either.
On paper Campbell is a very useful signing if he gets fit

I'm really not sure how we can fit everyone into one team plus keep a back 4.

Exactly.
Our players really suit a 12-man team.
I want Moore , O'Hare , Jez & Brooks when we're in possession.
Maybe we can do rolling subs each time we go from offense to defense ?

The real problem is with the wingers and the midfield. Back four looks quite good (Souttar, Anel, Burrows, Gilchrist). The midfield is tricky.
I want Hamer to play in his correct position, but who do we take out of the 3 in the middle right now. Souza is a good ball-winner. Blaster is simply amazing, and O'Hare adds flair and that attacking edge. Then we've got Brooks and Rak-Sakyi both on the right wing, who have both impressed me this season.

Moore and Campbell is probably a little easier to figure out. Campbell is of course willing to play up front, so I reckon tailor the striker's based on opposition. If the centre-halves are slow, Campbell in. If they're short, Moore in. Or you could base it on form.

I guess it's a good problem to have, but we want everyone to remain happy. O'Hare didn't come here to sit on bench, neither did Moore or Rak-Sakyi. Based on current form though, I wouldn't want to drop Brooks, Arblaster, Souza, or Hamer.

RakSaki /Jez / JRS & Brooks are to a large extent two-footed but the former is prob stronger on R & latter on L.
See my response below to next post.

How many games did we lose last season because the other team could bring on 3 or 4 fresh attacking first team players for the last 15 min's ?
This is a really important point which I'm not sure Wilder has grasped.
He tends to bring on subs too late and in a reactive rather than proactive way.
There should be no failure inferred for an attacking player to be hooked for a fresh pair of legs or a change in style - it's a squad game - our wealth of options in forward looking players needs to be exploited.
For the sake of simplicity , let's say there are 4 defenders & two holding midfielders , leaving 4 slots for pure creativity / attack.
We currently have Moore , Brewster , Campbell , O'Hare , Hamer , Brooks , JRS & Blaster.
I would be pleased to see Wilder use this pool of talent more flexibly during the game , making subs from 60mins onwards , not necessarily because anyone is having a poor game , but in order to stretch oppo defences and /or give them more to think about when they are tiring.
We suffered terribly last season from this strategy being employed against us by superior squads.
Now it's our turn.
Let's make use of the subs.

Even with all the players fit I am not sure we have the quality in depth especially at the front. Campbell is probably on the wing....

Exactly, I feel like the substitutions shouldn’t just be 60 minutes, 75 minutes every single time. Be proactive. If we are losing at halftime, bring a sub on then.
I think I may have found the best possible formation to fit in everyone with no one really playing out of position. One caveat, 3 at the back 😬

Cooper
Gilchrist, Anel, Souttar (maybe swap this around a bit so our left sided centre half isn’t so inept with the ball at his feet)
Diamond 4 in the midfield
Cdm Souza
Arblaster and Hamer centrally
O’Hare as the attacking midfielder

Front 3
Brooks/JRS on right, Moore/Brewster as the main striker, then Campbell/JRS/Brooks on left.

Not perfect by any means, but is this the best we can do?

You haven't got any FBs in there
