I think it made a big difference having him alongside Moore. Not specifically his performance but the change in shape. There was a few balls forward where previously it was just Moore who would lose out but today just having someone near him put more pressure on their defence. I don't think Campbell is an all round excellent player but I think he can finish. Wouldn't surprise me if he was out top scorer come the end of the season.

Glad he got his first goal. Not a classic performance by any means, but he is off the mark now.

Probably could have had another in the first half if JRS had released the ball to him when he was free in the box.

Not the best performance but he still scored, which can sum up quite a few strikers at times.

From what it seemed like today, Moore did all of the hard work to keep their defenders occupied, and Campbell tried to get on the end of the chances, can't remember exactly who it was but someone nearly played him through 1v1 from midfield in the first half but their CB just about managed to intercept the ball.

Campbell scored, whereas Cannon would have had to play twice as well as he did to qualify as "fucking dismal".

First Time all season Moore has a companion to play off him.Surely we have to do this every game.Hes been chasing shadows all season and finally we get him some support to feed off the problems he creates for centre backs.
Just don't get why it has taken so long ! Out and out target man he's not a silky footballer who dribbles the ball .Moore has been getting frustrated in games (shown in his body language) the pennies finally dropped support him and goals should come just find him a better partner than O'Hare ! Campbell could be the man.

I think (although clearly not match fit and the lad hasn't had an easy couple of months personally, can't be an easy time to join a new club) he looked promisingly like what we need.... quick and pretty direct when he was running with it with a bit more confidence. I think he'll be good.

Bloody hell though, he's built like a heavyweight boxer, put yourself about a bit please pal- looked about as physical as Michael Tonge.

Not so much a ‘told you so’ moment, however I have been quite vocal in my support for a player up there with Moore and with limited options I have been calling out for Campbell to be given a shout.

For me, this is the best way to get maximum out of Moore.

I've been really disappointed with how he's been in previous matches for us. But he's put himself about a lot more yesterday, big improvement and the goal is a great bonus. Hopefully keeps doing more and improving further.

Tbh, despite his size, I don't think Moore is your typical target man striker (compared to target men), even though that's what we're asking him to do at times.

There's much more to his game than just being able to beat defenders in the air, he can drag us up the pitch and run the channels if needed.

Campbell strikes me as more of a wide forward that we're trying to turn into poacher, if he can get into the right position in front of goal and we can create the chances for him, he could potentially get double figures this season.

Possibly but Stoke were dog shite.
I'd keep the same formation and line up against Blackburn, just swap Gus for O'Hare

Have to say i didn't hear this i was in the Bramall Lane upper. They were calling him a greedy so and so but i didn't hear any chants of this nature? People eh add alcohol brings out the worst unbelievable

Their own fans mentioned it in Roy's view from, so obviously was happening, clearly not so loud, but sure he could have heard it at pitch level in from if them.

You can hear the Stoke fans giving him grief in this, particularly in the first half and when he scores, you can hear them giving him more grief when he shushes them.

Really looking forward to seeing Campbell develop as his match fitness grows. I think he’s a really exciting player, and his reaction to his goal on saturday was full of aggression!

Exciting player and great little finisher but I wouldn’t hold your breath to see his match fitness grow. Whatever the reason is - attitude, diet, training, I really don’t know - he struggles to complete matches and keep up with the pace of the modern game, and we had long enough to see it’s a feature rather than a bug with him.

I like him though and, perverse as it sounds, I was almost pleased to see him get off the mark, especially if there’s any truth at all in these moronic chants aimed at him

And you can update your chart of ex-Potters scoring against their former club, shame it was only one out of three 🙂
