Can’t get remotely excited about this kid. When he’s actually shown something in grown up football I might do. Until then…

Fanfare for u23 prospects is always a reflection of a failing first team.
Who look, there's a glimmer of hope and talent, quick let me piss on it, cos I know all there is to know,

21 isn't as young as it uses to be in football though is it?
Other than his contract, what else is stopping him breaking into the first team? Size? Consistency? Because even in the Premiership it shouldn't have been that hard to at least push our attacking players a bit.
No at 21 it’s make or break time him signing a long term deal shows we have faith as he’s at the age where we really normally move them on. He’s had a convoluted journey to arrive at United and I think that’s why he’s a late bloomer he’s not played much 11 a side football compared to the other 23’s lads but he’s a clever player striking up an understanding with other players seems to come natural him at least for the 23’s. In his cameo against Leicester he seemed to try to do too much and was just doing lots of running out of position but I’ll put that down to adrenaline

I'm fucking blue in the face here.....

Iliman is currently our player. I see no reason why he shouldn't be picked at first team level if he convinces the manager in training or in Academy games that he could do the job & is worth his place.

Fuck Sake. Why is that remotely "controversial"?

Seen the likes of Zak Brunt and Ky Gordon waxing lyrical about him tonight, that has to be a huge positive when they’re bigging him up.
great news this lad has to be part of the matchday squad surely especially as we didnt manage to get any wingers through the door

Got to be good news this surely? He might be raw but he certainly has talent from what I've seen of him from the action clips, and he has a chance to be a player with that little bit of something extra (given time).

Anyone who isn't pleased about this (for both club and the lad himself) is a miserable sod or worse, they are probably a Wendy who likes to come on here pretending to be a Blade. Sad twat if it's the latter.

Good luck to the lad and I hope we see a lot more of him with the first team now. Well played son, go and earn that deal now.

If Moose has recovered after international break, it will be interesting to see how him and Ndiaye link up if get chance to play together in the first team.

Both french with Senegalese heritage and seem to enjoy each others company.

Its can only be seen as a fairly positive move - and would love him to be a success.

But, much like Jebbison, expecting a young lad with barely any experience in the men's game to rip it and excel is surely at best wishful thinking.

Only time we will tell, but wish him all the best and hope hes a massive success.

If the U23 game v QPR (I thnk it was QPR) is anything to go by from last season it won't be great. He kept playing defence splitting balls for Moose and he either didn't read them, didn't bother to run for them or cocked it right up.

Young Ndiyae told him what he thought about that more than once.

It’s not sitting right with me all this.

Seem to be pinning a lot of hopes on an academy player saving our season. Talk about pressure. Owner saying “best signing this window”, various saying “better than Brooks” etc, social media going full hype like we’ve signed prime Kaka.

I’ve no doubt he’s got talent and ability but he’s a hell of a way to go before becoming a regular in the mens game. Really don’t like the way in which he appears to be being introduced in to the first team. I hope I’m wrong.

I'm fully aboard the Iliman hype train. Choo Choo mother fuckers.

I agree with the way the club have hyped him up has put a lot of pressure on the lad. However how would you know that he has a long way to go before being regular in the men's game.

He's 21 now not 17... 21 year olds are a dime a dozen in professional football, we ain't in the premier league anymore, the senior team aren't performing. The scenario couldn't be better for him to be ready to be introduced into the first team if you ask me.

He will play and will be the next one we are fighting off bids for at the end of the season he is that good.

I think the post is trying to say that it is a stretch to go from never ever starting a professional game and only playing around 15 mins in a league game as a sub and ditto in a cup game to suddenly becoming a regular.

He has not even played a league game on loan anywhere.

He may have some potential and be well thought of at the club but not surely the target this season is just for him to get some minutes here and there with maybe an occasional start? I wouldn't be opposed to him going on loan for a month. He might be 21 which is a few years older than Jebbison, Hackford etc but he has never played any pro football other than above.

I'm not quite sure why everyone is so convinced he's going to tear up the league as some on twitter have indicated? I'd love it to happen but to go from u23 football to hardened Championship games is still a big jump.

I'm not being a party pooper and good we have him extended but I think some are getting carried away by a few you tube goals and a lot of hype...albeit the club have created really which is not fair on him ( Prince saying he will be our best signing of the window was it?)

All fair points, but (perhaps) to counter, we may have a precedent with Brooks, as a player who barely did anything outside of the youth team, bar a few games with Halifax, yet stepped up magnificently in the Championship.

Will Ndiaye do the same, who knows? But the rumours from the club suggest that he may be better now than Brooks was prior to hitting the 1st team.

At the end of the day, we have limited attacking midfield options at present, so what is to lose by getting him around the matchday squad? Freeman, Didsy and MGW will be the senior players in those positions anyway, so the lad comes in under very little pressure at this stage. Anything he adds is a bonus, and it he flops then we loan him out as you say, and revisit next season.

I’ve seen Darren Currie and Ayari have said similar too.

It won’t let me post the pics though so can’t show their comments
Weirdly similar wording on the 3 I've seen. all feels a little scripted like the posts the players put out after games.

Dont want to piss on chips here as I'm genuinely in the dark on this lad, I've seen his name pop up on the Blades development twitter after scoring numerous times over the past couple of years it seems but that's about it, But the way everyone is going off its as if he's elite? is he really that good? like nailed on first teamer level good?

People saying he's the best signing of the summer, we suggesting he's better than MGW? who is only 5 weeks older than him but has 3 years pro football experience more.

Not being wanting to be a dick here, I just know we have form for over-hyping young players of this ilk whilst overlooking the less desirable young products, I do get it though there is nothing better than a homegrown forward topping the scoring charts or turning the opposition inside out I'm just trying to get a handle on this lad's actual level of ability?

All that waffle aside I'm glad he's signed on so we can at least give him a chance rather than lose him for an insulting pre fixed fee which is lower than the car he will buy after one year of moving on
