Realistic take on the planning ahead for the short term future of the club

Most of our squad wouldn't be worth the paper the figures are written on if we needed to sell them in January or next summer to try and raise funds for a more positive season next season.

The only permanent players that still have a value of some sort are: Cooper, Tanganga, Seriki, Peck, Burrows (Arblaster if he can get himself back to similar levels as before the injury and Tom Cannon if someone is deluded enough to spend more than £3m on him)

Seriki is out of contract next season so we won't actually get a penny for him it seems.
Same with Riedewald

Absolutely none of the players Wilder signs nowadays have even a shred of potential or re-sale value that we can capitalise on and sell for a profit to keep building on. The only one who looks likely would've been Donovan but obviously not our player.

No one would pay a penny for:

Shackleton
Rothwell
Bamford
Doherty
Davies
Mcguinness
Baptiste
Campbell
Choudhury
RND (maybe a little fee. Should've sold him straight after his QPR spell. No way his value goes back anywhere near that)
Mccallum possibly
Chong
Ukaki
Zatterstrom


Our transfer policy seems to be reactive when it comes to contract renewals and end up finding out that players want to leave when their contracts are about to expire and sell them for pennies rather than their full transfer value, and then use that money to re-invest back in the squad. We're going to lose Seriki on a free next season because of this policy as well.

We are a sinking ship because we wanted to sign players with pashun.

Couldn't the same be said for most Championship clubs? We have a competitive squad given the drastic reduction in revenue this season. Minus parachute payment clubs, if you went through each team in the league with a fine toothed comb, you would likely find it's more or less the same.

We aren't a PL club, or a parachute payment club anymore. We still have a high wage bill. If what Rosen has said is true, I'd maybe guess we will be able to pay a few transfer fees again next year. Potentially January if we are in and around the mix.

The owners have probably got a bit burnt from the way we fell away, after large outlay in Jan.

The owners bought the club, gambling on us being in the Premier League six months later. They lost and they shit the pot, and we are paying the price for that now
