Why I'm supporting Weir

I didn't in my wildest nightmares think anyone could fuck up as royally as Weir has done. I keep bringing up my dead granny, but I think if she was manager and the players consulted her by ouija board 30 mins before each game she would have done better than Weir.
Sadly i can not comprehend why or how anyone was optimistic about his appointment. On here a poll showed i think a majority felt automatic promotion was certain..that is just the mad optimists but sadly when weir was confirmed i just said ffs..div 4 here we come....i do not get where anyone ever saw hope in this situation. Some prat in Oztralia moaning about Bassett yelling about knocking it long, etc....WTF??? McCall refused us..disaster obviously awaited us as it did with speed the last rookie no hoper...

I don't think anyone alleges it was "hoof".

Whatever it was, it made us promotion contenders all season.
And yet he had lost the plot total;ly by the Crawley defeat, and long long before.... shows what a no hoper Wilson truly is...

Sadly Wilson was unable to to sign good players to make us better and Weir is unable to make his good signings play well. A mixture of the 2 is needed

Sorry to be a nuisance..but what credentials/
He played for Rangers and was an Everton youth coach. So what credentials?

The fact that he has been involved in football at a professional level for over twenty years. Played at a very high standard in both England and Scotland and accrued 69 International caps. He captained Everton, Rangers and Scotland and played under Walter Smith, Berti Vogts and David Moyes. All rightly or wrongly, highly respected managers. Latterly working as part of the coaching staff alongside Moyes, prior to his departure to Manchester United. Those are his credentials.

Credential - noun : anything that provides the basis for confidence, belief, credit, etc.

The fact that he appears to have learnt absolutely nothing during that period, is irrelevant!

On the contrary, given he is now managing SUFC, is say it's entirely relevant...

Surely your point suggests Wilson is needed and not Weir? Weir signs players but cannot get them working, and then there was Wilson who was unable to make good signings BECAUSE THE CHAIRMAN WASN'T PREPARED TO SPEND LAST YEAR.
If Wilson had a crack at this season with the players we have now I can't see how we'd be in the bottom half let alone the relegation zone.

Yes obviously, but I was discussing his credentials, not his subsequent ineptitude as a manager, the point I was trying................oh fuck it, life's too short !!

some people come out of university with first classlaw degrees, and are loved by other students but never make it as top barrister , they have the credentials but lack in other areas, its life , it happens
Wier has the badges , the qualifications and the backing of old team mates, but in the cut and thrust of the hot seat hes not cutting it, its life
Too early man. too soon.

You do make the point that Mc whatshisname is a slow learner. But then again, he is quids in

Too early man. too soon.

too soon , we are a quarter of the way through the season and hes a one trick pony , we play one way with no adaptability , "no thats not working lads go 4123, or 424 ",never been heard on our touchline . We have played 13 games 3 v 4th division teams , in 90 minutes we did not beat any of them and only scored 1 goal, we head towards the clocks going back having one goal scored by our forwards, in 13 x 90 minutes 1170 minutes of football 1 goal by a forward.

I was excited by his appointment as he had what seemed good credentials and glowing testimonials , but and heres the rub , hes shit at the job, we have no identity , no drive, we create zero excitement , we are sacrificial lambs to the slaughter as he has no plan, we can pass our way through games does only work if you have players comfortable doing that, we dont, might have 3 tops who are happy doing it , and Weir has no other options

Seems to me that, barring a Coventry calamity, #sufc to give Weir through to home game next wk. Nagging thought: Also buys club time to act?

I dont even want to go to the Port Vale game should Weir still be in charge, I have never felt like that before. Will force myself to go though but wont force my lad to
