As a forest fan I whole heartedly agree although we're learning it's easier said than done to keep them after

Been steering clear for a week or so but thought I'd just say I think this guy is set to an absolute steal for you. Seen a little bit of him and think he's got that making things tick vibe. One worry with that sort of player at 20 is if the rest of the team are a bit poo, they find it hard to drag the whole team forward but this could be a massive coup if the rest of the team is where it needs to be.
No need to steer clear; we can have a decent conversation with you, unlike your fellow-red from Notts who thinks he's clever but definitely isn't.

Problem is that when they've got promoted, their value goes up exponentially.

Was same with Dean Henderson. We tried to buy him, but Man Utd wanted too much.
If you have negotiated a loan-to-buy, I wouldn't be surprised if you pay less now, than we were willing to pay 2 years ago, because he's been sat on his arse for 2 year.

Very good player, but he’s not an MGW type for those thinking he is
Guardiola suggests he might be.

"Tommy Doyle looks a perfect fit for Paul Heckingbottom and Sheffield United next season. The 20-year-old is heading to Bramall Lane on a season-long loan deal, which is expected to be confirmed today.

The midfielder, who played as a number 10 when he lined up for Cardiff against the Blades last season, has played in a central midfield role for Pep Guardiola but the Spaniard believes his best position is actually further forward."

Do hope he can gradually grow into that role this season. Cos our resources are very much limited

He’s just not that sort of player, issue with pointing that out? Didn’t think so, run along 😘
I’m just saying. You’ve been sounding the alarm on multiple threads about our recruitment. Here we have a potential loan of high quality, I think we can all agree, and your first comment is on the negative end of the spectrum? There’s no issue pointing out he’s not the same sort of player as MGW but I’m not sure that’s a comparison being made.

I think he is more highly thought of now than MGW was at the point of joining us !
If he progresses as MGW did we have the makings of a decent team.

He could be a great player Doyle, but he isn’t (well, hasn’t been) an MGW type so we do still have that hole to fill. Unless we believe he can play further forward

Watched the lads highlights clips and he looks more a Norwood type to me , lets hope peps right about him

Maybe there's something of a Foden comparison, came through as a midfielder but ends up further forward. Could be what Pep is thinking

So there it is

We have the next Foden

Lets put a lot of pressure on him

If Pepe wants him to play in AMC, then I guess we'll be playing him in AMC. I wonder where Sander will be playing.

A good young player and proper prospect but his games and roles so far are definitely like you say.

He may well be capable of adapting, Pep obviously knows far more than me, but at this point his performances aren't MGW-esque.

Irrespective, I'll be pleased if we get him.
