Yes he can be inconsistent and frustrating but (after Hamer) he is the player I bet opposition defenders fear the most. We are a slow team and need his pace (and ability to be in the right place at the right time in the six yard area. I hope we see a lot more of him in the coming weeks

Would chomp at the bit to get chance to sign this lad on a perm still alot of development ahead but my lord does having him fit and firing make a difference. ⚔️
Get the cheque book out i say he is the seasons Macca and he could go on to end up with more goals too think Macca got 8 or 9

He did well last night but I'm still not convinced by him. He needs to utilise his pace and try to run past players more. He spends too many times stopping, facing his defender and trying to run through them where they more than often get the better of him. He reminds me of Danny Webber. A one trick pony with a trick that doesn't work when he could be so much more. He did well last night but he's nowhere near ready for the Premier League.

Imo No one else comes close to his close control. And No one else touches the ball in the opposition box nearly as much as he does.

He’s added the goals and assists and the end product to win us games. He hasn’t been fully consistent but he is a flair player and if he was more consistent he wouldn’t be available on loan. He wouldn’t be here.

IMO we’ve got what we’ve paid for - on his day one of the best attacking players in the league.

He was a lot more positive last night and was also closing down more.

Someone has had a word in his shell- like.

Plus competition for places makes you a lot more determined to make the most of your minutes on the pitch.

Noticed he was giving the old badge tapping and kissing after the goal, maybe he also would like to make it a permanent move of we do go up and try to sign him!
Back end of last year he gave the impression he didn't want to be here and was possibly missing home.
He seems to have a much better attitude now, perhaps he's settling in more

Another fantastic performance. He’s getting back to fitness now. Managed 65 minutes last night. Would expect him to get fitter but I think all the front 4 will be rotated throughout the games.

I have a feeling he will end up playing down the middle in his career eventually. Seems a natural goalscorer, never needs to look up where the goal is ( see his first chance last night), always shaping to angle the ball away from the keeper, will scuff a ball to get it on target. He is on 6 this season, despite his lack of form at times, injury and our general lack of creativity. Thought it was his best all around performance first half last night.

Our top 5 goalscorers this season.

1) Hamer: 7
2) JRS: 6
3) Campbell: 6 (JRS has more assists)
4) Moore: 5
5) Burrows: 4

And that's not including BBD, Arblaster, O'Hare, Brewster and Brooks (who all have 2 each).

We've got goals spread throughout this team, with more goals to come from all of those players (minus Blaster) this season.

Him and Clarke caused lots of problems down that side in the first half needs to play every game if fit

Yeah, noticed that on the replays, was suprised tbh.

Would sign him in a heartbeat, dependant on how fruity Palace try and be with the fee.

His touch and close control is up there with Ndiaye. We forget how young he is and new he is to this set up and level.
I think he can be the difference between autos and playoffs in these next few games.

He immediately improves us even if he's not on it as the opposition full back/wing back drop 3-5 yards as they're scared of what he "might" do. Covering that space and countering from deeper effects you physically and psychologically and gives our defenders more time to get back. Compare Pompey first half vs Pompey second half. Largely neutralised on that side.

So many managers (including Carrick second half) double bank that side and set up cock eyed because they're scared of him. There's always space somewhere on a pitch and this opens up the middle, and our left and slows down opposition counters as a player of theirs is out of position defending Jes. See goal vs pigs. They also have to shuffle across to the left constantly when we invariably recycle the ball which is tiring

When Boro set up conventionally Jes got in behind four times. Another day there's more goals coming from that as they couldn't live with him in a fair fight. Hence the double banking.

Brilliant performance from him last night. Been a bit quiet in recent games but he looked back to his best. On his day he's an absolute nightmare for opposition defence and he's just one of those players where you feel something is going to happen when he's on the ball.

His close ball control brings back memories of Ndiaye and if he can get some consistency he will go on to be a top player. For the right price I definitely feel he could do it in the PL, should we go up.

He’s a match winner on his day. Is he the most consistent or even the best player in the squad currently no probably not but he’s one of very few that at any given moment can produce a moment to change a game.

If he was available at a reasonable fee for a player of his age and profile in summer it would be a shrewd investment even if the prem is a step too high for him next season he’d be a good long term asset for the club and one who in time could really become a very good player.

Looking more and more like the Warnock promotion season when we had nearly the whole squad on goal scoring duty.

Back end of last year he gave the impression he didn't want to be here and was possibly missing home.

Apparently he doesn't want to remain at Palace after continuously getting snubbed.

If we go up, I'd say there's a fair chance we can get him in on a permanent.

When his form dipped there were a number of us on here who suggested that a period of rest might be good for him and that seems to have been the case .

His performance against Boro was miles better than any of his other recent ones and showed what just what an asset he can be , in terms of both both breaking down defences and having an eye for goal when he is at his best .

If we can negotiate a reasonable price , there is no doubt in my mind that we should try to make him a permanent signing.

his form dipped when the opposition doubled up the man marking on him, they can't be doing that no more as we have a lot more threats now to mark thus giving Jes the space to smash em.
A no brainer of a buy, hope we get the option.
