He didn't look too happy himself, either. He was involved a lot (albeit wasteful) vs Millwall and he looked like the most dangerous player on the pitch today. Well played JRS! I'd love for us to sign him in the summer. I was seething when Wilder took him off.
Compare contrast the journey Hecky took McAtee on through his season with us. From raw talent out of his depth in 'mens' football to match winner.... Look what Wilder has done with Rak Sakhi. He's the same player today as he was the day he walked through the door....He was involved a lot (albeit wasteful) vs Millwall and he looked like the most dangerous player on the pitch today. Well played JRS! I'd love for us to sign him in the summer. I was seething when Wilder took him off.
In fairness, Hecky is a coach who specialises in improving young players. Wilder isn't a coach and is poor with younger players.Compare contrast the journey Hecky took McAtee on through his season with us. Look at the job Hecky did with MGW, Ndiaye, McAtee and look at what Wilder is doing with Hamer, Rak Sakhi and O'Hare....
Not a Wilder player. Doesn't run about enough. Although he's not been banished like Brooks, at least. He should have started more games. Madness to have someone so talented and not played him regularly. He's very raw though. Surprisingly raw. Much more than I expected. He was involved a lot (albeit wasteful) vs Millwall and he looked like the most dangerous player on the pitch today. Well played JRS! Poor with younger players? The bulk of our team this year have been younger players. Cooper, Burrows, Seriki, Arblaster, Peck, Gilcrist, Clarke, Rak-Saki, Campbell, Brooks, BBD, Brewster, Cannon, Oné are all 25 or younger. In fairness, Hecky is a coach who specialises in improving young players. Who has Wilder improved would you say out of that lot. Improved.Poor with younger players? The bulk of our team this year have been younger players. Cooper, Burrows, Seriki, Arblaster, Peck, Gilcrist, Clarke, Rak-Saki, Campbell, Brooks, BBD, Brewster, Cannon, Oné are all 25 or younger.
Never saw Cooper last year so no idea, but given him and Burrows have made a step up in leagues it’s probably fair to say both of them.Who has Wilder improved would you say out of that lot. Improved.
Got me scratching my head as well!Has Wider been asked why JRS, our 3rd highest goalscorer, was omitted from the squad while the likes of Cannon and Brewster made the cut?
He should have been on the bench instead of the useless BBDHas Wider been asked why JRS, our 3rd highest goalscorer, was omitted from the squad while the likes of Cannon and Brewster made the cut?
Doubt radio Sheffield or any of the others will ask Wilder anything remotely challenging but it would be good to get an answer on JRS; the second half tactics and subs; and him and his captain scuttling off and ignoring the 30 odd thousand fans who had gone to support them. He has got a fair bit to answer for but instead we will get the usual radio Sheffield “so Chris you must be disappointed with that” soapy soft nonsenseGot me scratching my head as well!
If Brooks had been left out instead, the same question would have been asked. Brewster played alright and most were happy with him starting.
Agree - JRS on the right Brooks on the leftHe should have been on the bench instead of the useless BBD
He won’t be asked anything challenging because he doesn’t tolerate it. We’ve seen what happens on the very rare occasions in the past when his tactics, substitutions etc are questioned.Doubt radio Sheffield or any of the others will ask Wilder anything remotely challenging but it would be good to get an answer on JRS; the second half tactics and subs; and him and his captain scuttling off and ignoring the 30 odd thousand fans who had gone to support them. Or let's just keep lumping it up to Moore!Rak sakyi was massively under utilised all season. I appreciate he was injured for a bit but he always made a difference when he came on. When we sat deep and invited pressure (like we did in 95% of games) he single handedly turned us back in to a threat. His early link up play with Seriki was very good, it was a hell of a double substition when they came on against a tiring opposition.
But no, let's keep it "solid" by hitting it to the channels, giving the ball away, time waste etc. Dull and uninspiring, rinse and repeat.
I disagree, overall he was a poor signing and cost us a lot of moneyHe was a good signing and I’d imagine he’ll be signed by a challenger next year. He had some spells where he looked anonymous and some where he looked electric. That’s the way with championship wingers. I think some in our fanbase misunderstand how inconsistent championship wingers tend to be as we’ve not played with them for years.
Big season for him next season and he needs to probably stay in the south. He was a good signing and I’d imagine he’ll be signed by a challenger next year. 3rd highest with 7 and way down the list with only 2 assists.Wasn’t he joint top scorer despite playing something of a bit part?
