I'll be filing a full report on my return to the String office... I'm now fully briefed by Chinese (and half Malay) Dave...!

Ps Banging result today... UTB!

I thought you would've been eager to report the latest news from last weeks visit, so I'm assuming no news is bad news String?

Do we take it the reconnaissance mission didn't prove to be that informative/fruitful then?

Gerronwi it String. Suspense is killing us. Dunt tek a week to tell us its all gone TU.

Oh no!

Has Chinese Dave run out of half and half scarves?

Yeh String, what's the delay? gerronwiit

Easy gang easy….. Blade58 stringjunior I have the name of the Chinese company and I had a drink (or two) at their table with the Singapore representative (and China / Malay / Singapore Dave of course). Discussions with Scarborough have been happening but I got the sense that the Chinese side couldn't get their head around the current 'ownership' group and how they would have to make it work? Ongoing scenario… This company is huge, I'm not going to give a name but they are a international maritime / shipping company, mainly Oil and so forth. Not exactly riveting news I agree, but its where we're at with that….im not convinced its going to go anywhere soon. …anyway, ill let you know if Chinese / Malay / Singapore Dave comes up with anything else. I have offered myself to this China Group as a Club cultural liaison officer or some such nonsense…err... the phone hasn't rung yet.

In other news, we've enquired about getting John Brayford back for the run in and actually I'm told Brayford was playing with pain killing injections for the first part of this season which might partly explain his terrible start with us. In fact for Burton he was still playing with injections until only 4/5 weeks ago. So clearly not at all fully fit unfortunately.

Coincidentally my S11 crew (you know who stringjunior) were having a drink with him down in the Porter Cottage over the international break.

Sat behind us in the Director's Box.
Very impressed too he was.
People behind him were a touch annoyed as he kept on standing up and they couldn't see the match.

I hope our potential new Chinese owners aren't browsing this forum

Just reminding people of the only worthwhile post here in recent memory

Our sale took a year Wolves and Villa 6 months. No pun intended but there's a ton of Red Tape to deal with. That's just in China

Just commenting to keep this thread alive.

Any news on the China front, or is sum ting wong?

Sorry :(

So would the idea be that they bought out HRH? And Kev's wish to retain a controlling interest is a sticking point?

I doubt there is any Chinaman who has an emotional attachment to the club. Their interest will be solely in making a profit, whatever that entails. If McCabe ever does sell up I hope he does it with some guarantees in place re: the stadium's location and name, the team colours and the name of the club.

Sorry is "Chinaman" racist these days? If so, what do we use instead? I really have nothing against our yellow friends :-)

Only if you'd typed " lacist " after it.
