Blades 3.2 Sunderland 1978 I think. Was on match of the day too. My first time on the Kop. Was hooked then. Alex Sabella, Peter Anderson.
... Richard Harwood

Pembo v Blackburn, Wayne Quinn v CoventryCoventry FA Cup - Pembo penalty to win it?
Deano's 45 yard chip!I was going to suggest that one too. We were absolutely brilliant that day, but the 0-0 scoreline just looks boring on paper.
The 2-0 win against Liverpool in 1992 was also a wonderful team performance. We comfortably won against one of the best English teams despite the ref giving them (Liverpool) everything.
I'd forgotten all about him!... Richard Harwood![]()
That was also my favourite match! (Apart from forest playoff semi). The atmosphere in the crowd swung from easy win, to building disappointment, to "oh no, end of the world!" to complete Euphoria!!! Everyone in crowd was shattered by the end! Everyone on kop had a smile on their faces as they left the groundSeptember 89 in the Bassett Division 2 promotion season
United 5 Brighton 4 - 3 nil up in no time, 3-4 down with 10 to go, John Francis (I think) last minute diving header to win it!
Paul Wood played for them and rag us ragged
Yes, Rioch was Arsenal's manager at the timeReally enjoyed beating Arsenal 1-0 in the FA Cup under Kendall. I think they were pre Wenger but had a really strong side including Bergkamp, Seaman, Adams, Dixon, Platt, Merson and Wright. We were still in trouble in the 2nd tier and the ground still only had 3 sides, we were a bit of a shambles as a club, but that night we just clicked superbly. Carl Veart scored a flying header. Cowans and Patterson were superb in midfield and we thoroughly deserved the win. Atmosphere was superb despite no John St stand.
Oh what a night22nd December 1990
Didn’t Ball get sent off in that game too?Few days?
Ball sat on the ball in January 1972, we lost 5-0 at home to Arsenal. TC's revenge was in Sept 1973, more than 19 months later.

Is my memory playing tricks or wasn't that the game where the referee struggled to get the Liverpool players to retreat the full ten yards, so eventually he just booked the entire wall?Do you mean Liverpool?
Back when James McAtee was just a glint in his uncle's eye...Few days?

Got sent off when we beat Arsenal by a Dearden goal in October 1972. It brought out loud cheers by the Blades fans. Ball responded by slow handclapping at the fans as he walked towards the players tunnel.Didn’t Ball get sent off in that game too?
I think the goal was at Lane End rather than Shoreham. It was 1978 and on Wed of that week we played River Plate at the end. Hard to believe we got relegated to 3rd Division at the end of the season for the first time in our history. The 1-0 game in which Hamson scored the winner was against Liverpool, not Leeds.

thanks for the correction mate but it is a few years ago.Wasnt a header. What the Morning Telegraph or the Star wrote about the goal
A mistake by the craggy Murray was latched on to by Woodward. The winger swiftly headed on the misplaced pass to Reece who lashed in an 18 yard drive which Eadie got his finger tips to but which still sped into the top left hand corner.
once again thanks for the correction .i shall have to go and see the quack ha haFew days?
