This is absolute thronker from Jean Calve - I thought we'd signed the french, white, hairy, right-footed Roberto Carlos after this.

Best goal against... genuinely not sure - I'm a mardy sod when it comes to my Blades support, and I try to forget anything bad that happens to us immediately after its happened, particularly if I've made the effort to go and watch the game live.

I want to go with this partly because it's the one that when I see it again is actually even better than I remember it. Ridiculous to shoot from there.

I'm also going with the Cantona chip. From memory was a winter midweek game and I'd played 5 a side on a snow covered pitch and went straight to the game freezing my arse off.

Best goal probably Deane's 40 yarder against Liverpool. Again, sat on the kop and probably half missed it as nobody expected him to score from there!

Late equaliser in snow in a 3 all draw.
Against I will go with...dunno yet.

My dad with an assist throwing the ball over the fence from the Terrace to Paul Garner (?) to take the throw-in, from which the ball was chucked to Matthews who took it forward a yard or two and then blasted it home. Snow covered pitch, orange ball - them were t’days.

that derby game was amazing. i think we were the only teams playing that day as we had both been knocked out of the cup - good news as it turned out (luton?). you say 10 minutes but for me it seemed the last kick of the game. we battered them all second half only for shilton to play a blinder. i'd given up and then hodges - bang! he nearly broke his neck celebrating. great day.

wasnt that hodges 90th minute winner against derby where he arrived at the far post scored then went arse over tit over the barrier and in to the kop ?

In an attempt to pick one’s that are a bit niche…

Jean Calve always springs to mind for best goal. Brooks v Leeds that time I thought was a super finish and move. Hamer has a few in the hat too. Jags v Middlesborough was the goal in my first season as a blade and was the day I fully fell for the bladesmen.

Goals against, Harvey barnes scored one in our first prem season that almost broke the net. Dalot scored a good un. Villa goal from that crazy pass from lad who now sits on bench at forest.

It's Jags vs Middlesborough for me. What a strike, late in the game, first win that season. Madness on the Kop!

I can still hear Tudgay's strike hitting the net and then the porkers squealing from the BLLT a split second later, in my nightmares.

Long distance goals are great but 99% of the time miss, TC's quality goal is the best as he beats the entire defense, wrong foots the goalie and passes it in to the net, that's my favourite.

Similar to one Tony Field v Ipswich Town in Aug 1974.

He did score in each of the five games he played at the Lane in the 1960s but Spurs didnt win a match (two draws, three losses). The only time Spurs won a game at the Lane in the 1960s was on 28th December 1965 (I will post the report in the 1965-66 thread in two days time) but Jimmy Greaves didnt play as he was sidelined for three months during the 1965-66 season with hepatitis.

thats correct silent i was at that night game against spurs we lost 3 - 1 can remember another game against them in the 60s a 3 - 3 draw think greavsie got 2 that day
