both Anel and Norwood were both morons tonight by giving the referee a chance to make those decisions.
This 100%. Maybe Anel's was just outside box but FFS don't be doing that so close to the penalty area in the first place, no excuses.

Not particularly impressive but as it transpired it was a satisfying night in the end

2 goal win, no extra time and value for money

Wrexham are probably more like top end L2 level in reality

The initial shirt pull started two yards outside the box. Mullins went to ground in the box. It was a foule before he threw himself over and was not a penalty. That said both Anel and Norwood were both morons tonight by giving the referee a chance to make those decisions. Anel's lack of discipline is starting to make him a liability.

No he had a hold of him and carried on doing that into the box when he went to ground so it’s a pen all day

As for the hand ball in the last minute the only possible explanation is that the ref didn’t have the balls to give it cause it was effectively a match deciding call 🤷‍♂️

So you're acknowledging that Anel already had hold of him and fouled him before he entered the box? Are you related to Rob Styles or Graham Poll?

So if I tackle a player two yards outside the box, miss the ball and take out his legs, but he falls over in the box, then that's a penalty?

NDiaye only ended up offside when McAtee had already slowed down and took a touch to put it out left slightly for a shot. He was expecting that to be rolled to him well before that.
Ndiaye ended up offside because he didn't think about keeping himself on-side.
Running is fine, but you've got to be aware where the ball is.

So you are saying if Anel got hold of his shirt on the half way line and the forward dragged him into the box then went down it would be a penalty?
5 yards outside the box when he pulled him and that’s were the foul was

Blimey, that wasn't fun to watch. Deserved to win but it could easily have been a different result. We're light up front now. Let's hope McBurnie was rested. We moved the ball around really well at times tonight but the final shot or pass was often wanting. We also were slow around their box and took too many touches and too much time to create something or have a pop.

Davies - 7 - Didn't have a great deal to do. Came for one throw in and flapped a bit but his penalty save was the turning point.
Osborn - 7.5 - Best game for us for a long time. I like his low had passes into the forwards. Why haven't we been seeing more of that. Did well tonight, up and down and involved in most things, including setting up the first. Can also take a corner.
Robinson 8 - Thought he was superb all night. Got forward well first half and it was him and Osborn linking up which caused them a lot of problems first half. Solid at the back.
Egan - 6 - A bit all over the shop at times but did well winning headers on corners. There were a couple of iffy moments at the back.
Anel - 5 - Sure, great finish for the goal and did well going forward but he was a mess at the back. It might not have been a pen (debatable I think) but wtf was he thinking. Also a couple of wild challenges and one mad charge out for a header which left a huge gap behind him.
Basham - 6 - Did a job at RWB but struggled with it a fair bit after the first 25 minutes. We did look for solid when he moved inside.
Coulibaly - 6 - Decent debut. Looks tidy on the ball and offers himself. Bit less comfortable when pressed and defensively the jury is still out. Still, looks like he can at least come on and help us from the bench.
Berge - 6.5 - Mixed as per usual. Dangerous when running at the opposition and put some nice passed in but takes far too long on the ball. Wants an extra touch all the time and needs to hit things first time (like the well taken goal)
McAtee - 7 - Made a few bad decisions first half but also looked lively. Kept going and helped finish them off. Involved in most things we did well.
Ndiaye - 6 - The drop in form continues. It's weird. He's still putting in the work rate but seems to have lost his confidence on the ball. Didn't hold his run first half and needs to offer more with the ball at his feet. Had chances to run at players but instead chose to lay it off.
Sharp - 6.5 - He had chances tonight and should have done better with them. He was also involved in most of our better play and did a good job of holding the ball up and linking up play. Seems to work well with McAtee. Cool finish to win the game.

Subs:

Norwood - 5.5 - Stupid tackle for the penalty and struggled to get up to game speed. Looked to be more ambitious with the ball which helped move us forward quickly.
Lowe - 6 - Did ok. Added more energy and pushed us up down the left.

Hecky - 6 - 32 shots tonight and we looked like we'd been told to shoot more (albeit much of the finishing was terrible first half). Got there in the end and thankfully avoided extra time.

Wrexham weren't quite the force as they are at home and we were so wasteful infront of goal but they always threatened to cause us a problem. Mullin again caused Egan and especially Anel far too many problems.

We really should have been out of sight by the time we let them back into it with two school boy challenges. Forget that the first was well outside the box, it was a stupid thing to do in that area of the pitch.
We gave them the momentum and made them look better than they actually are.
I’m not one for slating referees but he was absolutely diabolical tonight. Genuinely looked desperate to give them free kicks and to book out players whilst completely ignoring their ‘industrial’ defending.
Coulibaly looked a good layer tonight, not sure how Berge was ITV MOTM, Allly McCoist is like he os on crack but more entertaining than the beeb Co comms.
Glad to be through, fair play to Wrexham that did well but we should have been 3 or 4 up by the time they equalised.

I don’t know what anyone responds to this idiot mate. He thrives on winding people up with his nonsense. Just ignore the clown and he will hopefully go away

That’s not what happened so no

If you grab a hold of someone keep holding until you get to the penalty area line then he falls over it is a penalty yes as you were fouling him in the box

Yep. But you don't.Anel was not holding mullin's shirt inside the box, he simply dived forward into the box and when he got there anel was not holding his shirt
Go an rewatch it

Doesn’t even have to be in the box if it’s on the line it’s the box

Berge 6.5 😂😂😂😂😂

Best player on the pitch by a mile

Yeah that’s right 👍

I don’t make the rules 🤷‍♂️

That’s not what happened so no

The foul should be when the offence takes place and the pull was outside the box and the ref should blow when he sees the pull surely

You must be disappointed on two counts tonight. Keep the whining going, United never seem to lose no matter what you say. Fleetwood though. 🤣🤣🤣

Again this game just backs my theory even more

Another poor performance where we have scraped past a non league team

Warning signs are there 🤷‍♂️

Shame wendy lost as I’d have liked to batter them in the cup

As fans we don’t really see what goes on to be fair. He’s the perfect pro so must have been giving it for Billy to even bother commenting. Plus as an away team the whole Disney thing must become a distraction if you’re the ones being cast as the villains.

If you are a lower league team you need that but of luck. They did get a slice. The pen was outside. Likewise there was a bit of a push on Bill when he got a shot off that could have been interpreted differently, I thought not but forensic VAR might have had a nibble. There was a definite handball. We also failed to get one exactly the same vs Plymouth the other year. Absolute stonewall. Never too clear on the offside against Billy, as it came off their man. For me I’d have given it offside but just not clear on the rule there when it does deflect off an opponent.

In the end it was a relatively professional performance. We did have a lot of the all and 32 shots tells it’s own story. They had their moments. Always tricky when you’ve scored one penalty to take another against the same keeper. Good save. No qualms about that award, Norwood was just blindsided.

Good we got a third. Felt for the lad who kid controlled it. Hopefully he recovers. The third should take the edge off that for him. Hopefully for them Mullen isn’t injured and it’s nothing serious.

Good luck to their fans. Some get carried away but they’ve plumbed the depths in recent years so can completely understand then making the most of it. Disney has their drama. Wrexham duck out with their heads held high and a bit of cash too. We must be eyeing up a million for this run now we have Spurs with prize money and gates and tv. Not bad.

Decent cup tie. On to Swansea now.

Last comment; good to see Coulibaly. He looks handy.

I’m glad that is behind us. Full credit to Wrexham, they played well.
First match agreed, replay we were all over them and missed plenty of opportunities before their first goal. It was only the incompetence of the ref and a crazy tackle by Norwood that got them on the front foot.

Interesting take on the game. You were generally "better" than us, I agree, but I don't think our defending was any more "industrial" than the ludicrous challenge on Mullin near the end of the first half that saw your guy booked and the commentators laughing about whether it was a tackle or something out of the Kama Sutra.

If you'd had Mullin, you'd have won the game at a stroll.

And, as wiser men than me have said in the past, don't let a player take two penalties in the same game.

That’s not what happened so no

If you grab a hold of someone keep holding until you get to the penalty area line then he falls over it is a penalty yes as you were fouling him in the box
If you are pulling someone they get held up , they don't dive forwards as a result of what you've done.
Attacker felt miniscule contact and threw himself forward to the deck
They conned a penalty out of a ref who was very sympathetic to their cause
