Surely the first team (such as it is), can’t only be playing 4 friendlies?

Chesterfield sold out (I just bought the last ticket)

A source close to the club told me earlier that It looks like it’s going to be s24su XI v the first team the weekend before the season starts, venue to be confirmed but it’s looking likely to be on the HSBC pitches

Any news on the bradford game today, wilder said it was 4 , 30 min games, so everybody fit should get some game time

Here's the traditional S24SU Sheffield United Pre-Season friendlies thread for the season 2024/2025.

As usual more pre-season fixtures and information will appear here as we're able/allowed to confirm. Keep checking back for edits on the warm up for the new Championship season.

How is this enough games for the first team?
We've played two teams to start 45 minutes OK.
But surely to give everybody the minutes we need here on in to build fitness let alone or God forbid select on performance/merit and build team understanding we need to be arranging two potential first team squad games at the same time (ie Saturday+Sunday, Tuesday+Wednesday) etc.

How is this enough games for the first team?

They can obviously do what they want behind closed doors and CW had promised a gruelling pre-season in previous comms.

There'll be at least another you can watch.

Huddersfield away confirmed as the last pre season match. Looks like the abroad trip isn't happening, no munneh

Odd that they're adding one additional game but it's not at BL

Not that odd, we asked to play the first game of the season away because the hotel isn't finished so having a pre season friendly there was never gonna happen!

News to me and not sure why that would affect the ability to host a PSF, but that is at least reasonable

we went from Germany vs. Bochum to Italy vs. Parma and settled on Huddersfield. Fucking love this club

It's game day bitchessssss 🥳

Will Osula score in 3 consecutive friendlies.

Will we see Hamer finally get some game time.

Will we see the golden axis of Hamer, Ohare and Moore.

Find out tonight!

And don't forget folks, if you want to watch this game from the comfort of your home, you have to pay for the privilege.....
If you also want exclusive news about the club, you have to pay for the privilege.....
If you want a takeaway whilst you watch the match, you have to pay for the privilege.......

That said, do we think Mcburnie might play tonight, have United paid for that privilege??.....

For anyone going tonight, not familiar with Harrogate. there are 2 pubs equidistant from the ground. Woodlands on the way in via Wetherby and The Empress on the way in via Leeds. Easy walk from either pub, about 15 mins. Parking is restricted nearer to the ground. Alternatively, coming in by train, there is a pub next to the station, used to be run by a Blade, not sure if he's still there. You can then either walk, 30 or so minutes, or catch a bus. Bus station is close to the railway station. Either get a Wetherby bus, drops you by the ground, or a Knaresborough one and get off at the hospital.
